Inside, an unknown number of fireflies resided, and the current echo was actually their internal layers awakening. They fluttered their wings, fully awake now, like ghostly flames ignited upon a pile of bones.
In the bones, the outermost were horses, cows, sheep, pigs, dogs, and chickens; the middle contained tigers, deer, bears, apes, and birds.
These corresponded respectively to the six domesticated animals and five wild creatures.
Many scattered bones were around, but most still retained the intact structure of their assembly. Otherwise, they wouldn't be so easily recognizable.
The very center, which supported the height of the bone pile, was human.
Human skeletal remains, like a construction game, were piled upon each other. One dragged the other, and one supported the other as they climbed upward, forming the main support of the bone pile.
