"Why did you bring gifts?"
Seeing Lin Jianming and his wife bringing things over, Shen Siyuan felt a bit surprised.
"Consider it an early New Year's greeting," Lin Jianming said.
"Early New Year?"
Shen Siyuan looked bewildered. It's way too early to celebrate New Year; there's still more than half a month to go.
"Yes, because we're planning to go back to Xiajing for New Year's," Lin Jianming said.
"Leaving now?"
"In the next couple of days," Song Qingwei chimed in.
"Some old friends in Xiajing need visiting during New Year," Lin Jianming said rather vaguely, but Shen Siyuan got his point.
He had mentioned before that the reason his family's police equipment company could be so large was because it had a lot of support from higher-ups.
These people wouldn't support without reason; they probably also have some interests. Normally, they don't interact, but year-end is time for some socializing and strengthening connections.
