Ye Shikai gripped the long spear tightly in his hand. Indeed, the longer the weapon, the stronger it is. In the cavalry charge, if the weapon can strike the opponent first, one can take the initiative. The saber's blade was treated to be extremely suitable for slashing. Shangguan Jian was right; facing the cavalry saber with a bronze sword was quite disadvantageous.
Ye Shikai hadn't used a long spear much before. He should have learned well from Wang Kai, but then again, he never thought he would return to the era of cold weapons.
