Early the next morning, Huangfu Yi found a bamboo basket, put Pei Yuhuan in the basket, and set off. They headed into the mountains, following the marks from the horse hooves from before, aiming northwest to join the Pei family's team.
But after only half a day of travel, Pei Yuhuan started to fuss.
"Hey! I'm hungry!"
"I just told you to drink some porridge, and you refused."
"That bowl was filthy! It had sand in it, and there wasn't even any honey mixed!"
"Are you still asleep? Where am I supposed to find honey in this wilderness..."
"Then I want to eat snow pears."
"There aren't any!"
Huangfu Yi really wanted to throw the basket off his back. But he stopped himself, merely thinking it.
"Bear with it a little longer, once we cross this mountain we'll be there..."
"Who said there aren't any, isn't that one there?"
"..."
