Elemental War

The Elemental War stands as one of the most devastating Civil conflict in Anorak's history, marked by a fierce struggle over power, pride, and survival.

This ten-year civil war reshaped the political and geographical landscape, leaving a legacy that defined the world for generations to come.

The Rise of Darkness and the Threat of Venora's Demons

A century after the ancient gods sealed themselves within the five Elemental Orbs, a new darkness began to seep into the world. Venora, the goddess of death and destruction, imprisoned deep beneath the earth, found new ways to extend her influence over Anorak.

Using her powers, she created an army of demons and unleashed them upon the surface, sending them to claim territories and spread chaos.

These malevolent forces established strongholds across a vast territory that would later become known as the Dark Continent, a land of horror and peril, thick with Venora's dark magic.

Emergence of the Elves and the Formation of the Ice Empire

Meanwhile, the gods had left behind another creation to help protect Anorak in their absence: the elves.

Skilled in magic and renowned for their wisdom, the elves established themselves on the frigid continent of Nukmere.

There, they founded the Alfa Empire, which would later be celebrated as the Ice Empire.

This empire, with its profound mastery over ice magic, became a powerful entity, dedicated to preserving balance and opposing the forces of darkness.

Growing Division Between the Isndo and Azeltans

Following the Holy War, the Azeltans—the favored warriors created by the gods to fight alongside them—began to dominate Anorak's civilizations. In contrast, the Isndo people, who had suffered heavily during the war and lost favor, were marginalized.

Tensions grew as the Azeltans treated the Isndo people harshly, both out of mistrust and prejudice.

This simmering resentment reached a breaking point with the controversy over the Elemental Orbs, which held immense, godlike power.

The Azeltan leaders, unwilling to share these orbs, refused to distribute them among the nations.

This denial enraged the Isndo people, who saw the orbs as part of their heritage and a symbol of their connection to the gods. The conflict over the orbs' possession became the spark that ignited the Elemental War, a civil war that would ultimately engulf the continent of Talmo in violence.

The Ten-Year Elemental War and the Destruction of Talmo

The Elemental War was unparalleled in its brutality, a decade-long conflict that saw devastating magical battles reminiscent of the Holy War. Both the Isndo and Azeltan forces wielded elemental powers in a bid for dominance, while Venora's demons ravaged the continent in the chaos. The war ultimately left the entire continent of Talmo in ruins, shattering cities and obliterating ancient structures that had once honored the gods.

In the war's final years, both the Isndo and Azeltan civilizations teetered on the edge of collapse. Millions perished, and the land itself was scarred beyond recognition. The once-prosperous continent of Talmo was reduced to a barren wasteland, marking an end to the golden era of both civilizations.

Emergence of New Empires and the Division of the Elemental Orbs

In the aftermath of the Elemental War, the remnants of the Isndo and Azeltan people splintered into separate factions, giving rise to new powers. From the ruins emerged two new empires:

The Azel Empire: Formed by the descendants of the Azeltans, they held onto their ancestral power and sought to establish themselves as a central authority.

The Yin Dynasty: Founded by those who had left the Azeltan Kingdom before the Elemental War, the Yin Dynasty represented a distinct faction of people who had managed to avoid the devastation.

Alongside these, other nations began to rise from the ashes. Two other great powers formed:

The Ice Empire: The elven Alfa Empire, now known for its frosty strength and magical prowess, evolved into a powerful kingdom of its own.

The Nori Empire: Descendants of the Isndo people, these survivors reestablished their culture and traditions, reclaiming a semblance of autonomy.

These four empires—Azel, Ice, Yin, and Nori—formed the core powers of Anorak in the post-war era. However, tensions remained high, primarily because the Azel Empire held all five Elemental Orbs, a position that worried the other nations.

To avoid another catastrophic war, the empires reached an agreement to divide the Elemental Orbs among themselves, hoping that this balance of power would deter further bloodshed and create a fragile peace in a world scarred by conflict.
