Braska was surprised by his response and asked, "weren't you just uncomfortable with your attire"
Christopher keeping his expression nonchalant replied in a plain tone, "Respecting your traditions and customs is the minimum I could do when your daughter is getting married to me and I do know their importance in your life, so respecting them becomes a duty, and Christopher Von Windsor is not one to ditch either his duties or responsibilities."
All of his thoughts were well calculated and well executed,
But why we put in so much effort to get these barbarians on his side despite their lack of knowledge and ethic was because, the tribe though small was known for two things. One was for the scarcity of resources and the other their strength, ignoring the first let's focus on the second point, Strength: the Bihu tribe had two strengths that helped them sustain themselves even in the toughest conditions. One of it were their females with physical power enough to conquer even the strongest armies, second their males though lacking in physical strength were compensated with intelligence that could rival even that of the ministers of the strongest nations.
These two strengths helped them in withstanding the pressure from the emporer, thus they were able to lead their lives without any interference from the outside.
As someone who knew the their circumstances and their history. Christopher was in a way well informed of the clan's vulnerabilities and for them to feel at ease with him. He couldn't leave things as they were in the past and for things to move forward, he had to do things which were important to the tribesmen and which they viewed favourably, So his ambitions were clear, he wanted Braska to have a favourable opinion of him.
He didn't know if his plans have succeeded. But one thing was for sure Braska would definitely start trusting him more after this and Briska, after informing a few things about the upcoming event to christopher left the room.
Arslan after waking up from his deep slumber entered the room alloted to Christopher and upon entering his gaze moved to clan leader who was about to leave and his expression crumbled in an instant, braska who was also observing Arslan's expression saw this, but chose not to say anything.
He wasn't surprised by this not in the slightest because this was how the people from the Empire saw them from ages and if something he thoughts were wandering around the prince, he still couldn't see through Christopher's head nor could he detect any hatred for the tribesmen from his gaze this surprised him alot and this also one of his reasons to move forward with this marriage thing despite Mia's dissatisfaction.
The man named Christopher was an opportunity, an opportunity presented by the god himself to change their fate forever and if he did ascend the throne then Braksa believed their enmity would end....
Arslan Trusted his master's decision on staying with the Barbarians. He was confident in his ability to secure his master's safety. But leaving Prince alone with the head of those cunning basters wasn't something he was pleased with and then a sudden thought passed his head, 'What if that bastard messed up his master's head? , master is already unstable in the head no one knows what he does.....keeping that aside If that cunning fox planted some dangerous ideas in master's head then.....I have to check on him,
Arslan upon turning his gaze to Christopher found him seated in a chair calmer than usual, except for a weird thing placed on his nothing seemed out of place.
Reaching Christopher with light yet measured measured steps, he casually enquired, "I didn't knew his higness was interested in those barbarians culture"
Christopher readily shared his idea and said, "I suggest you get one for yourself".
Arslan rejected the idea almost immediately saying, "Not interested but your highness on my way here a marriage was taking place in the tribe by any chance are you here to attend that".
Arslan had a basic understanding of the things happening in his surroundings and that understanding came from his personal translation of parts of speeches from people passing him and he knew was that a man named Adolf probably hauling from his Empire was getting married to a girl from to this tribe and his head already had theories about why his master could be here, the final conclusion he arrived at was that, 'this marriage is a move by his highness, likely made with the intention of bringing the unruly heads of eastern region to their knees, thus forcing them into submission using Barbarians.
Christopher not knowing the extent of thoughts in Arslan's head readily agreed, "You can say so"
His words gave more confidence to Arslan, Arslan wasn't briefed about the reason for their visit, nor was Christopher interested in doing so, not having enough trust in the man, one reason for his lack of trust was that this man whose understanding came from the information mentioned in the the novel and the other reason was came from the fact that this man Arslan was more loyal to his father than him and he wasn't willing to take unwanted risks at neck of the time, so he chose to exercise his right to silence until and unless he figured out a way to bend the loyality of this person and bring him to his side, his thoughts on Arlsan came to halt when a sudden idea struck his head, choosing to implement it Christopher rose from his seat, walking towards a the mirror placed in the room, his gaze now held himself as if he were the only existence in the world, he mouth uttering things which were not exactly related to the topic and he asked, "Arslan did you ever miss our childhood days when our mothers watched us play".
