Chapter 386 - Chapter 386: The Saiyan’s Pseudo-God

At the very front of the long procession of spectral flames…

King Yemma's Palace

"So, you're looking for a person named Yamoshi…" The massive King Yemma flipped through the thick ledger in his hands, scanning the pages before letting out a grunt of recognition. He turned to the Earth's God, who stood atop his enormous desk, and said, "That's right. She came here many years ago. However…" He paused before continuing, "Though she did enter Heaven, she chose to reincarnate after just a few centuries."

Yamiru had already glimpsed the relevant lines in the giant notebook sprawled across the desk—presumably a magnified version of the Book of Life and Death.

Yamoshi

Planet Salad – Saiyan

Cause of Death: Saved her comrades and Planet Salad from destruction. Eligible for Heaven.

Lifespan: 129 years

"So, she's already reincarnated…" Yamiru murmured, unfazed.

On his shoulder, Joey tilted her head curiously. "Who's Yamoshi?"

Yamiru recalled his first encounter with her on Earth, alongside Namek, and later, how his soul had temporarily merged with hers, allowing him to experience greater power and a higher state of being.

"A good friend. She helped me a lot," he said simply.

Joey blinked. "A woman?"

Yamiru gave a vague hum.

"Was she pretty?" Joey propped her chin on her hand, staring up at him.

"I suppose she was decent-looking…" Yamiru answered absentmindedly.

Truthfully, as someone who spent every day thinking about his yet-to-be-born wife, he hardly paid attention to other women's appearances. Hmm…

Besides, when it came to Yamoshi, what stood out most was her warrior spirit.

As the two whispered among themselves, King Yemma suddenly roared, "Hey! Earth's Kami! Don't think I can't hear you! All that chattering is driving me mad!"

As a lower-tier deity, Yamiru instinctively felt a surge of unease under King Yemma's divine pressure. Frowning, his Golden Veil flickered slightly, dispelling the discomfort brought by the hierarchical suppression.

"My apologies," Yamiru said calmly, neither submissive nor defiant.

"You're so annoying!" Joey, however, defiantly jabbed a finger at King Yemma, who was like a colossal giant compared to her.

Strangely, though King Yemma was equally irritated by her, he didn't actually feel compelled to punish her.

"Speaking of that Yamoshi…" Just as Yamiru and Joey were about to leave, King Yemma suddenly added with a displeased expression, "She did reincarnate, but… she left a part of herself behind in the living world. What a rude, willful woman!" He shot Yamiru a glare. "—Sounds a lot like *you*!"

Ignoring the jab—likely referencing his lingering attachment to Earth—Yamiru asked, "What part of herself?"

Even as he spoke, he had a vague guess.

Sure enough, King Yemma explained that before reincarnating, Yamoshi had left behind her divine half in the mortal realm.

"Probably drifting aimlessly through the universe!" King Yemma grumbled, as if imagining a bug scurrying across a pristine room. "No doubt she wanted to leave some kind of legacy for her descendants—maybe clues on how to become that so-called Super Saiyan God or something. Tch. Mortals and their petty obsessions…"

'So, this is how God of Destruction Beerus received the prophecy of the Super Saiyan God?' Yamiru inwardly understood.

Choosing not to comment on King Yemma's irritation, Yamiru finally took his leave.

Joey, as if by instinct, followed him back to the living world—Earth.

After a brief stop on Earth, he returned to King Kai's Planet.

As always, Yamiru lacked the ability to Instant Transmission… To travel from King Kai's Planet to King Yemma's Palace, the only options were either running the Snake Way or first returning to Earth and then using divine magic to enter the afterlife, setting the destination as King Yemma's Palace. The same logic applied in reverse—without Instant Transmission, getting back to King Kai's Planet required either retracing Snake Way or using Earth as a midway point.

"She reincarnated? Well, that's to be expected."

King Kai nodded in understanding. After all, very few mortals could live for hundreds or thousands of years without growing weary—even Yamiru himself, King Kai could tell, harbored deep-seated exhaustion. Yet, it seemed some stubborn, unshakable attachment kept him suppressing those "I've lived enough" thoughts.

Yamiru suspected that Yamoshi, having already become a Super Saiyan God, hadn't reincarnated out of weariness. Perhaps she simply wanted to experience a new life.

"But she was a friend from a thousand years ago, wasn't she? And an alien from beyond Earth… Why look for her now?" King Kai asked, puzzled.

"She was a god," Yamiru said. "There were things I wanted to ask her…"

He shared his understanding of power—Body, Ki, Will—and the path from mortal to god. He also briefly explained the Saiyans' cheat-like traits, Super Saiyans, and Super Saiyan Gods. King Kai grew more astonished with each word, exclaiming, "You're saying she became a god through such a simple ritual?"

"Not just her," Yamiru clarified. "Her comrades likely underwent the same ritual repeatedly, all ascending to godhood. Only their strengths differed."

"How can this be?! Mass-produced gods?!" King Kai was utterly speechless.

Yamiru explained to King Kai that, in his understanding, the path to godhood lay in elevating one's self-awareness, breaking through the dimensional boundaries of consciousness—essentially raising the level of one's "self."

"Ultra Instinct!" King Kai suddenly shouted, pacing in circles while muttering to himself. "Isn't this just… isn't this Ultra Instinct?!" He clutched his head, realization dawning. "So that's how it is… No wonder this level is called 'godhood' by the world!"

Yamiru blinked in confusion. "What are you talking about?"

Joey leaned in and whispered into his ear, recounting the time long ago when the Dragon God had visited while Yamiru was still "asleep" under the tree, along with the words the old man had spoken.

'So, the 'old man' she's referring to really is the Dragon God…' Yamiru mused. 'Just like Arale, she must be a kind of "miracle" brought into the universe by him.'

But just as Arale couldn't cause "unpleasant" outcomes like death, this alien girl Joey likely couldn't be "used" for selfish purposes either. The only power of the Dragon God that could fulfill personal desires was probably the Dragon Balls—though their strength varied.

"Ultra Instinct—the 'Absolute Truth' that can never be fully attained, only infinitely approached…"

"Only by touching this realm can one gain the qualification to move toward 'Ultra Instinct'…"

"And those who possess this qualification are called gods…"

Yamiru pondered the Dragon God's words.

Flashes of insight crossed his mind.

'I see.'

Perhaps in the eyes of a being like the Dragon God, the Super Saiyan God's seemingly "cheat-like" ascension ritual was nothing more than a ticket granting entry toward Ultra Instinct—nothing particularly special. That's why Saiyans could become gods so easily…

For example—

If a weak Saiyan used this method to become a Super Saiyan God, obtaining the "ticket" to approach Ultra Instinct…

'What would be the point?'

Someone with a feeble foundation, lacking the tempering of true training and genuine understanding of power, would gain almost nothing from the transformation. Even as a Super Saiyan God, they wouldn't advance even a millimeter toward the distant Ultra Instinct—in fact, they might even lose their way, intoxicated by the sudden surge in power, abandoning further growth in their base state.

Even if they flaunted their Super Saiyan God strength among mortals, it would only be laughable.

In the eyes of true masters, they might even seem… pitiful.

Catching a glimpse of the divine too soon… wasn't necessarily a good thing.

It was just a glimpse, after all.

The Super Saiyan God ritual, the elevation of consciousness, the metamorphosis into godhood…

Only for those Saiyans with formidable strength and profound mastery did it hold deeper meaning.

If Goku obtained the ticket to Ultra Instinct,

And some random Saiyan obtained the same ticket…

'The difference in significance and worth between the two would be incomparable!'

"In the end, a ritual is just a ritual. A transformation is just a transformation…" Yamiru sighed softly. "Super Saiyan God… perhaps it's more accurate to call it the 'Saiyan's Pseudo-God.'"
