Ministry of Magic,
The new Minister for Magic, Dolores Umbridge, was on cloud nine. This was it. Her dreams, her goals, all fulfilled on a grand scale. She had risen from the bottom, and now she stood at the top. At last, the Minister's position was hers.
From interim minister to the real, elected minister. All the promises that Dudley Dursley had given her had been fulfilled. And now, it was her duty to do her part. She was aware of how much more Dudley Dursley was, and she saw clear benefits in ensuring a tight bond with her superior.
"Next."
Two weeks had gone by since Voldemort was finished. Things were returning to normal.
"Next."
That morning, she was busy signing paper after paper. Some were boring budget allocations and renovations. But others were laws and acts that held greater meaning.
The British Wizard Employment Act was passed, reinforcing the World Wizard Employment Act with greater care and push. Within the borders of the United Kingdom, D&D now had complete approval to employ as many wizards as they wanted, and even have them work alongside Muggle counterparts as long as secrecy was maintained. Furthermore, Wizards could be employed directly in the Muggle Research & Development division of D&D.
"Next."
Then she signed perhaps the most important Act. The Act that would allow the Ministry to outsource some of the law and order duties. While the act was called "Anti-Dark Lord Act", the real goal behind it was to employ men from the Vanguards to take positions in the Ministry that dealt in law and order, dark artifacts, and anything related to Dark Wizards.
One after another, Dolores Umbridge signed Acts that on the surface were harmless, but once looked at deeply, they revealed a clear benefit for Dudley Dursley in one way or another. Nobody knew it yet, nobody had realized it. Everyone was too busy relaxing, celebrating victory over the Dark Lord.
In that silence, D&D Holdings took over every single aspect of the United Kingdom, from Muggles to wizards. Banking, security, retail, manufacturing, research, healthcare, and everything in between.
On the Muggle side, the new tech city that Dudley had planned by taking over Plymouth city neared completion. A fully planned city with parks, housing, business and industrial districts, its own massive port, and an international airport. The entire city was designed for maximum efficiency in terms of high-tech research, manufacturing, export, starting with computer chips, semiconductors, batteries, and more. All the poaching Dudley had done to grab the biggest tech talents from around the world had paid off. With the help of wizards, experiments were conducted safely with barely any money lost since all failed experiments could be reversed with the swing of a wand.
Engines, computers, mobile phones, chips, processors, GPUs, screens, space-tech—the new city of Polaris was going to be what the name suggested, the guiding star. And with Dudley's leadership, his knowledge of the future tech scene, and the accurate predictions of Arithmancy, he was destined for heights no human could ever imagine.
He was the darling of the wizarding world and the savior of the Muggle UK's economy, having boosted the nation's GDP single-handedly by over one trillion. With a little bit of the media's help, he was named the uncrowned king of modern Britain.
And in a few years, it was only going to grow bigger, global, on a scale unimaginable.

Hogwarts,
"Are you sure this is the right time, Albus?"
Dumbledore calmly nodded, his hand brushing through his beard as he sat with serene stillness in his office. "I have reflected on this for quite some time, Minerva. The leader of Vanguards spoke the truth. I have failed in my duties twice, and in each failure, innocents lost their lives. I can no longer claim to be a suitable headmaster."
Professor McGonagall frowned, "You value the words of a mercenary?"
"A wise mercenary, nonetheless. He not only uncovered Voldemort's origin but also discerned the secret of his life, discovered every Horcrux, ensnared him within the Ministry, foresaw the Goblins, and struck with the precision of a healer. I cannot pretend I could have done better," Dumbledore replied with quiet honesty. "You will be the next Headmaster, Minerva. I have already placed your name before the Board of Directors and the Ministry."
Professor McGonagall still didn't look confident.
"Minerva, I'm only retiring, not departing this life. You may call upon me whenever you wish." Dumbledore rose from his chair with quiet grace. "Now, as for the Vice Headmaster position."
"Severus?" She asked.
"I do trust him, yet his manner with children leaves much to be desired. At this moment, we need gentleness and understanding to restore what trust has slipped away. Lily has expressed interest, but I have not settled the matter."
Hearing that, Professor McGonagall calmed down. "She's a very capable witch."
"She is."

The Burrow,
Much had changed. While the tower-like building was still crooked from the outside, it looked different inside. New paint, new curtains, and new furniture decorated the house now. And as the family sat down for morning breakfast, there was less fighting and teasing and more delight.
"Umm! I can eat this every single morning!" Ron almost moaned as he ate the pancakes with the maple syrup directly imported. It was a quality he could feel on his tongue, so natural and delicious.
"You know who to thank."
"Right here."
Fred and George chirped, eating their fill as they sat in fine, expensive business suits. Their Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes had been a global hit, with their shops opening across the world at the same time, thanks to Dudley's investment.
In a matter of a few months, they had gone from penniless to millionaire status in Muggle terms. In wizard terms, they were as rich as a low-ranking pureblood family. With money to squander and still have left over. But the two brothers hadn't spent it on useless things.
The first thing they did was renovate their home, expand rooms, and buy new clothes for the entire family. No matter their faults, they did love their family dearly.
"At least Ron won't have to worry about finding a job now," Molly said, smiling proudly at her family.
"He can be a clerk in our shop." George offered.
"Or the janitor," Fred added.
Ron frowned, glaring at his brothers. "I can take care of myself. I'll join the Ministry with Harry."
"We'll see. OWL results are going to come out in a day or two," Percy voiced from his chair. He was perhaps the richest man at that table, being the first employee of D&D Bank's America branch.
Hearing the mention of results, Ron shrank back, worried about his future.
"Mr. Dursley has been nothing but a blessing to all of Wizardkind," Arthur Weasley muttered cheerfully as he tucked away the newspaper, its front page showing Gringotts Bank now neatly transformed into the splendid D&D Bank facade. "I had the pleasure of meeting him at the Ministry just the other day. I asked what inspired him to accomplish so much, and he said it was his father's tragic end. Remarkable really, how tragedy can sometimes shape men for the better."
"He's awesome!" Charles Weasley cried. "He just brought half of the world's dragon reserves and boosted the funds by five times! Honestly, it's brilliant to have someone who genuinely values dragons. He even saved the poor dragon the Goblins had captured in Gringotts. The poor girl was terrified and injured!"
Clink!
Right then, Ron annoyedly smacked his spoon on the plate. "Can we talk about something else? How the bloody hell is Dudley connected with all of you? He's bloody everywhere these days."
"He's just that big of a man. Wealth, fame, and brains, he's got it all." Arthur Weasley shrugged and focused on the food.
"He's our boss," Fred said.
"Or business partner? Who cares?" George focused on food.
One after another, everyone ate food, though only two members didn't speak. Ginny just didn't want to end up blushing. And Willian Weasley couldn't afford to speak, for he was now a proud member of the Vanguards' curse breaker team, sworn to Dudley Dursley with an Unbreakable Vow of secrecy.
Honestly, Bill was scared at the start. When he realized how big Dudley's power actually was, he worried that it was too much. A single man having a massive wizard army like that. But then he saw their work; how they helped poor magical communities around the world, how they employed the harmed and targeted wizards, how they protected magical creatures, how they hunted down Dark Wizards.
It all felt so fucking badass.
When he saw the memory of the attack on Voldemort from one of the commanders in the pensive, he was thrilled. He saw Dudley Dursley as Mr. X, and honestly, it was fucking badass. A mighty Dark Lord like Voldemort was reduced to a cockroach.
He joined the Vanguards right away. The pay was good, the work was exciting, and he was a part of something great.
Bam!
And right then, an owl came and smashed into their kitchen window.
"Ah! It must be OWL's results!" Molly excitedly jumped to her feet to grab the letter.
Ron Weasley was the least thrilled, however.
