Two days later.
New York.
Inside a luxurious villa in the suburbs.
Morgana and Sofia sat opposite each other, casually talking in the relaxed atmosphere of the room.
"What have you learned about the king?" Morgana asked, while looking at something on her phone.
"His name is Wilson Fisk, currently living in XX. As Kingpin, he owns a building in Hell's Kitchen, exactly at XX. He is currently married and has a three-year-old son…" Sofia slowly shared the information she had gathered.
Morgana took a photo showing Kingpin with his wife hugging their three-year-old son and couldn't help but smile ironically at this family picture.
"The husband is a gangster, the wife an ordinary citizen who respects the law. How ironic," Morgana said.
"What we guard the most is also our greatest weakness, isn't it?" she added, pointing at the child. Sofia just nodded, looking at her.
"Maybe I am a monster who kills without blinking, but I haven't stooped so low as to kill a three-year-old child. I once killed, and it was my greatest regret," Morgana quietly said, knowing what Sofia's look meant.
Sofia silently nodded, then suddenly asked:
"How will we deal with him then?"
"Just because I don't want to kill the child doesn't mean I can't threaten him. However, if he still doesn't give in, then I feel sorry for the child who will be left without a father." Morgana vaguely expressed her intentions, but Sofia understood what she meant.
"You're right," she said softly, looking sadly at the child in the photo, as if recalling something from her childhood.
Morgana noticed and knew Sofia was soft on children because of her past.
"When do we start?"
Morgana looked at the clock hanging on the wall.
"It's 6 PM now, we leave in two hours."
Two hours later.
Morgana and Sofia walked slowly through the noisy and chaotic streets of Hell's Kitchen.
They walked for about 20 minutes until they stopped in front of a building. A group of gangsters guarded the entrance and immediately noticed them.
"Look what we have here. Hahaha," the gangsters laughed, looking at Morgana and Sofia with lust as they approached.
Morgana looked at them with disgust and just snapped her fingers; the group in front of them turned to dust, not even knowing how they died.
"Is this the building?" Morgana asked, pointing to Sofia.
"Yes, that's it," Sofia nodded while controlling the shadows beneath them. They wrapped around them and disappeared from that place.
Inside the building, on the top floor.
In a spacious room, next to the window, Morgana sat cross-legged on a chair, facing the window. Next to her stood Sofia, who was now controlling shadows to hide her face.
After some time,
The door suddenly opened, and a group of armed men entered, followed by a tall and bulky man, about 2 meters tall.
"I don't know who you are, but tonight you won't leave alive," Kingpin looked at the two people in front of him with murderous intent.
"Hahaha..."
Morgana laughed and just clapped her hands, while the weapons the group held turned to dust. They fearfully stepped back a few steps, even Kingpin stepped back a little when he saw the weapons disappear with just one clap.
"I don't know where you got that arrogance from, but with me, you must speak with respect and keep your head down," Morgana said in a cold and commanding voice, while Kingpin felt his blood pressure rise, and anger slowly took over his mind.
"Am I clear?!"
At the window, Kingpin saw two green eyes looking at him with cold and terrifying indifference. He felt like he was looking at a tall person sitting on a throne, of whom only the eyes were visible, not knowing what had come over him.
"Yes," Kingpin quickly composed himself, with a voice full of respect and flattery, increasing his caution towards the person in front of him, while deep inside he felt an emotion he thought he had forgotten, fear, extreme fear.
"I assume you know who we are."
Kingpin had no idea who they were; he would never have provoked a powerful person without reason. He tried to remember who he might have provoked. Suddenly, the building under construction in downtown Manhattan came to his mind.
"You are the owner building a building in downtown Manhattan," Kingpin said cautiously.
"Hoo... I like smart people. Yes, I am the owner," Morgana said with an arrogant and commanding voice.
"And now, what shall we do? You interrupted the construction of my building after all," Morgana said coldly, staring into the night sky.
"I apologize for that, I will compensate for the damage I caused," Kingpin quickly bowed, knowing that his identity and pride would not save him from the person in front of him. The group of gangsters looked at their boss in disbelief as he bowed to the person before him.
Kingpin felt the gazes of his subordinates but could do nothing. If he had to choose between life and death, he chose life, especially since he had a wife and child. If it had been earlier, he surely would have done something, but now he didn't want to risk it, because it could cost the lives of his wife and child.
"I'm glad we finished quickly, otherwise the child would have been left without a father," Morgana said happily, smiling, but Kingpin felt deep fear when he saw her smile at the window and felt relieved that he had made the decision quickly.
"I hope we don't meet again, because it will cost you more than life." Kingpin saw the two people swallowed by shadows and disappear from the room, leaving it in dead silence.
"Boss, what do we do?" one gangster from the group asked.
"Nothing. Whatever happened here, let it stay here," Kingpin said coldly, warning the group, knowing they were no longer so loyal. When he was left alone in the room, he stood by the window and deeply looked at the illuminated city.
"Mutants..."
Not far from Kingpin's building, Morgana and Sofia moved through the dark streets of Hell's Kitchen.
"Morgana..."
"I know, Sofia, it seems the serum affected my thinking," Morgana said, aware of her concern.
"But I never dreamed it would work so fast and so deeply," Morgana quietly murmured so that no one could hear her.
"Hmm... where are we going?" Sofia nodded and asked, following Morgana who was now walking through the dark streets.
"I felt a familiar energy nearby, so I want to check," Morgana said as they stopped in front of an old, abandoned factory.
"Now let me see what attracted me." She slowly pushed the door, while she saw an empty and messy room in front of her.
"There's no one here," Sofia said as she looked around the room.
"I wonder..." Morgana stared in one direction from where she felt the familiar energy.
"Worms, better get out or you won't see daylight tomorrow if I come after you!" Morgana said threateningly, her voice echoing through the room though no one was there.
Just as Sofia wanted to ask Morgana something, an old woman's voice was heard.
"Hehe, what an arrogant tone, little girl."
From the darkness emerged an elderly woman in a traditional Chinese blouse, leaning on a cane that struck the floor with each step.
"Haa, old woman, are you lost? Where are your grandchildren?" Morgana said with a venomous tongue, feeling the familiar energy from her.
"Heh, looks like you need to be taught how to respect your elders." The old woman felt her eyebrows twitch at Morgana's tone.
Slowly she approached Morgana until she stood a few steps in front of her. She saw Morgana's relaxed stance and smirked lightly to herself. However, what caught her attention was Sofia cautiously standing behind Morgana, sensing a slight danger from her.
Still, she didn't pay much attention. She gathered qi in her hand that was behind her back, which Morgana felt even though it was hidden. She only smiled faintly, but to the old woman, it looked like a sneer.
"Die!"
She struck with a fist, now filled with qi energy that faintly glowed, directly toward Morgana's stomach. However, just as she was about to hit, she saw something that shocked her.
Instead of the fist hitting Morgana's stomach, it was blocked by a hand glowing green with faint shades of gold and red.
"What's wrong? Do you think you're the only person who can use qi?" Morgana asked, watching as the shocked old woman stepped back a few steps after her attack failed.
It all happened in an instant. Sofia immediately controlled the shadows around her when she saw Morgana attacked by the old woman, who thought she was just an ordinary person, although her instincts told her she was dangerous.
"Who are you?" the old woman asked cautiously, taking a fighting stance, ready to attack or defend at any moment.
"I wonder... but that's not important..."
"What's important is that I know who you are."
"Madam Gao, isn't it?" Morgana said, revealing the identity of the person in front of her.
