"The greed for power drives people into an abyss of no return." Alysanne Targaryen, Princess Regent of the Imperium of Humanity.
--------
"The Aeldari." Lyarra chewed that name in her mouth with a thoughtful expression, she narrowed her eyes and revealed a cold smile. "These ancient races think they are superior just because they have existed longer."
Alysanne agrees with Lyarra's words. If time were synonymous with power, this universe would have been conquered long ago. Before her father, no matter how many evil gods or chaos gods, all will be destroyed in due time.
"However, because of this race, my father attended my mother Daenerys' birthday party." Alysanne revealed the shocking news to the women around her.
Lyarra, Arya, and Saera widened their eyes hearing Alysanne's words. The reason for the shock was that the God Emperor had not attended a public event for over seven hundred years. Now, knowing that the Emperor would actually appear at the Birthday party shocked the three women.
"It seems this race is different from the others." Saera commented with a still incredulous tone, knowing that she would meet her great-grandfather for the first time in hundreds of years.
"No matter how special they are, they are just an arrogant race." Arya said with a dissatisfied tone at the arrogance of the Aeldari. This was the Imperium of Humanity, it was humans who should be arrogant.
"It's not that simple, I heard that the god king of the Aeldari pantheon is arriving." Alysanne added with a slightly sarcastic tone. The only reason her father would be present was because he would give due respect to the divine king and nothing more. Respecting the divine king was respecting his own status.
All the women around understood this truth and no longer spoke about the divine king of the Aeldari.
(Note: to fit into this book, the Aeldari empire is already on the verge of collapse, especially with the imminent birth of the Chaos God Slaanesh. As for the reason for the collapse, it's simple corruption, hedonism, and arrogance...)
"So, Lady Lyarra, how is my grandfather Eddard?" Alysanne asked with a smile, looking at the beautiful woman before her. She had the blue eyes of the now extinct Tully, and Val's blonde hair.
"My great-grandfather is well, he usually spends his days in the frozen forests of Winterfell hunting and living a peaceful life." Lyarra spoke with a gentle and warm tone.
Alysanne slightly narrowed her eyes, it seemed that the marriage between Eddard and Catelyn had long since collapsed. Which did not surprise her. Marrying the daughter of her father and brother's killer was a fate few men could truly endure for long. Eddard was still extremely good for not having divorced Catelyn or even killed her.
At the same time, having privileged information, Alysanne knew more than anyone that Catelyn's fragile and old state was due to her three mothers. Although Aenar no longer cared about Catelyn, he had even forgotten the woman, the same could not be said for Daenerys, Rhaenys, and Visenya.
The three women deeply hated Catelyn and have not forgiven her to this day, a thousand years later. The reason the Elixir of Life was delayed was because Daenerys wanted it, and that's why, while everyone else remained young and beautiful, Catelyn was old and fragile.
It was the queens' revenge against Catelyn, who made the Emperor's childhood a living hell. Although there was also the hatred of House Targaryen against House Tully.
These thoughts passed through Alysanne's mind, but she showed nothing in her expression. This is because anyone with a little intelligence and information could see. She wouldn't believe Lyarra didn't know this.
"What a good life." Alysanne commented, hearing about Eddard's peaceful and calm life.
Suddenly, as she was about to continue the topic, she glimpsed a maid approaching. Alysanne stopped and listened to the whisper in her ear, which showed a cold look for a moment, before she elegantly smiled again.
"Is there a problem, Princess?" Lyarra, who always observed Alysanne's expression, couldn't help but speak with a worried tone.
"It's nothing." Alysanne smiled at Lyarra and did not delve into the matter. But, behind her calm gaze, there was a terrifying coldness.
The maid, who was a Daughter of the Emperor, the Imperium's Intelligence and assassination organization, had reported that traces of blood magic had been found on Planet Isstvan V in the Isstvan Solar System.
Even the First Imperial Counselor, Duke Tyrion Lannister, Saera's grandfather, had left with a fleet of spaceships to decimate the entire surface of the planet.
Alysanne couldn't help but think of her brother, although there was no indication, she felt that Aegon was involved in this incident, especially since Aegon was a Master of Blood Magic.
It was very suspicious that the remnant of blood magic was found on Isstvan V.
'Aegon, are you conducting experiments involving blood magic?' Alysanne thought with a deep look. When connecting the Blood Ritual to the remnants of blood magic found on Isstvan V, it never crossed her mind.
Such a thought was madness, for only Aenar and his miraculous blood could create Primarchs and the Elixir of Life, which could make people remain young and strong for thousands of years.
So, even being extremely astute and intelligent, Alysanne never thought of this possibility.
Lyarra looked at the inexpressive look on the princess's face and knew that something serious had happened. The more Alysanne tried to hide her emotions, it showed that things were really serious.
However, seeing that the princess did not want to delve into the matter, Lyarra put aside her curiosity and began to talk about other topics.
Alysanne looked at Lyarra and couldn't help but think that the girl was really suitable to be her assistant. After seeing Lyarra's qualities, it was something she wanted to happen, Saera was overwhelmed helping her, so Lyarra really came at a good time.
Having two assistants was enough not to overwhelm her with the boring affairs of the Imperium.
Thinking about the comfortable and luxurious life her three mothers were having these hundreds of years, Alysanne couldn't help but want to bang her head against the wall. Although she liked power, it didn't mean she didn't like vacations.
But it was impossible for her to have vacations with the absurd amount of paperwork she had to sign throughout the day.
This conversation she was having at this moment was a rare moment in her week, which she took to rest a little. Unfortunately, with the news from Isstvan V, that moment of relaxation disappeared. Because she had to deal with the consequences of other people's actions.
Thinking about this, a cold, murderous, and penetrating look flashed in her eyes. She really hated cleaning up other people's messes.
Sighing, Alysanne watched as the three women talked, or rather the two, as Arya was increasingly excluded from the conversation, showing that Lyarra didn't like Arya as much as she showed.
But this didn't surprise her, the personalities of the two women were completely opposite, it would be strange for them to like each other. Being related didn't mean you had to be friends, she herself grew to dislike Aegon and detest the arrogance of Maegor, her father's fifth son.
Family was a complicated thing, especially among the nobility, where interest and titles spoke louder. Not to mention the imperial family, where princes and princesses fought for resources and power.
The conversation continued and when Alysanne realized, she saw the sun setting, showing that the birthday party was about to begin.
"The servants will take you to your quarters, the birthday party will begin at 8:00 PM." Standing up, Alysanne spoke with a smiling tone, she was also happy to see her father after a few decades.
Alysanne couldn't help but feel a little envious of Naerys, who could stay by her father's side all the time.
Lyarra, Arya, and Saera nodded their heads and stood up, ready to prepare for the birthday and the arrival of the Aeldari entourage.
Seeing the women's backs disappearing down the corridor. The smile on Alysanne's face disappeared, she looked at the maid beside her and said with a cold tone. "I want all of Aegon's movements on my desk before my mother's birthday."
She knew that Daenerys watched all the princes and princesses, especially Aegon, who was watched at all times, showing how cold and indifferent Daenerys was to distrust her own son.
"Aegon, you better not cross the line or I will kill you to prevent my father from having his own son's blood on his hands." Alysanne murmured with a cold and murderous tone.
