Chapter 456 - Chapter 456: Lies and Truth.

On the Loki Familia's side, their harmonious and cheerful daily life had once again returned to one filled with brawls. But the aftermath of this incident turned out to be far greater than they imagined, far beyond their expectations.

Three days passed.

As usual, Fron tinkered with whatever caught his interest.

In the mornings, when he was energetic and clear-headed, he would run over to the Dian Cecht Familia, look for Amid to discuss and research the development of new types of potions, then fiddle with a few small tricks.

At noon he casually grabbed a bite, then dived into his magic workshop, either studying magic tools or forging equipment.

These past few days, with nothing to trouble him, his mundane daily life could be described as carefree and pleasant.

But while people like him was relaxing, the representatives of the other familias, Finn and the others, were having headaches.

Especially the Guild's management.

"Fron, you bastard, you still haven't updated your Status yet, have you? The others have all improved at least a little. Only you first-class adventurers are left!"

During lunch, Raul and Fron sat in a corner, eating while chatting quietly.

The entire hall was full of cheerful faces.

And from Raul's intel... Fron knew that these guys more or less had all gotten significant improvements, some had long since maxed out their stats and used this incident as an opportunity to level up in one go.

Otherwise the Loki Familia wouldn't be this lively.

These past two days, even he could feel the atmosphere.

"Ah, Bete and Tiona just leveled up. After updating, their improvements won't be some qualitative change, at best their Status parameters rose a good amount."

"As for sublimating their level… that'll still take time. Just look at Finn, Gareth, and Riveria. They've been stuck at Lv.6 for seven years."

That's right. As far as Fron knew, during the seven-year Great War, Gareth and Finn almost levelled up at the same time.

And up to today, it's been about seven years.

From this alone you could tell how torturous levelling at this stage was.

But obviously, this did not include Fron. He didn't dare voice his suspicions, otherwise it would be too frightening.

Early-stage rapid levelling was still acceptable, but Lv.6 to Lv.7… in less than half a year?

What kind of international joke was that?

"Oh right, I heard the Guild already issued the announcement."

"About this incident?"

"Yeah."

Fron let out a mocking snort.

"Good enough to fool idiots, deceive those clueless rubberneckers."

...

Three days after the major incident, the Guild's intelligence records had no detailed documentation.

The only line left behind was a short phrase easy to overlook: [Eradication of an underground organization].

Even though only a single day had passed, all of Orario felt as though it was changing with each moment.

First and foremost was repairing the damage caused by the chaos, and explaining matters to citizens who didn't know the truth.

Naturally, these tasks would never fall to the leaders of the major familias.

As city administrators, such blame-taking and cleanup work was something they would absolutely not dirty their hands with.

The announcement read:

"Just like the countless Vio;as that appeared on the surface like frenzied apostles, they caused damage throughout the city. Thanks to the full efforts of the forging gods, Hephaestus and Gubneus, leading various familias, the adventurers of Rivira on the 18th floor, and the Njord Familia who rushed here from the port city of Melen, a tragic result was avoided."

"Reconstruction will proceed at full speed with the Guild at the center, assisted by gods in charge of simthing and other familias. Orario is slowly returning to its state before the incident."

The response work for the city's citizens was also being carried out day and night.

Monsters suddenly appearing on the surface was one thing, but the Knossos, unleashing the city-destroying spell "ring spell," the resulting earthquakes and anomalies, and the crimson magical light that enveloped the entire city were simply impossible to hide.

These scenes, visible even from outside Orario, stirred anxiety and unease in countless hearts.

Because of this, citizens, merchants, and business partners all demanded an explanation...

Altogether, these complex factors made things extremely difficult for the Guild.

Thankfully, the experienced guild head Royman personally took the stage to handle the situation, manipulating the information.

In plain terms: guiding public opinion and information control.

Exactly as Fron had guessed, no difference at all.

Anyone could understand why the management would conceal the truth. To maintain order. If the horrifying truth were revealed as it was, what would happen?

Wouldn't Orario, and the world, be turned upside down?

Thus, Royman said:

"Recently, the 'Xenos' incident that threatened Orario must still be fresh in everyone's minds. The matter of the god Ikeros, who was expelled from the city, is also connected."

"We located the base of that god and destroyed the underground organization. The series of disturbances, including monsters appearing on the surface, were all related."

So that's how they framed it.

"Pfft..."

Looking at the announcement Raul handed over, Fron accidentally sprayed his drink all over someone passing by.

Fron awkwardly looked at the dripping, furious, completely disheveled Lefiya and gave an embarrassed smile.

"Oh my, if it isn't our dear elf mage. And I haven't even congratulated you yet, for taking a big step forward within Lv.4!"

"... Hmph!"

The girl rolled her eyes, not bothering to deal with Fron's off-hand teasing, and brushed past him with a sharp flick of her hair.

"....."

Fron and Raul exchanged glances and shrugged.

Turning his attention back to the announcement, Fron wiped his mouth and snorted:

"'Lies and truth,' huh? Nine lies, one truth, Royman is playing a mix of real and fake. His methods are pretty impressive. He really does have some skill."

Raul nodded as well.

"That's right. They say this guy is greedy and call him 'Guild Pig,' but when it comes to work, Royman's indeed capable. The familia also says so."

With Royman stirring things up like this, the waters had become completely muddy.

Even if some half-informed adventurers wanted to doubt it, they had nowhere to voice it.

Because in Orario, the Guild represents the official authority.
