Chapter 310 - 310: Running away

"Do you really think you still have a chance to go back to the Ministry?" Fudge roared, his bloodshot eyes turning toward Dumbledore.

"Dumbledore! I promise you—I'll work with you to resist Voldemort. Hurry up and kill this man who should've died a long time ago!"

Dumbledore glanced at Fudge and shook his head helplessly.

"Why? I already agreed to it!"

"Because, for a qualified politician, turning your back and denying everything is a basic skill," Dumbledore said casually.

Hit square in the forehead by his own boomerang, Fudge took a deep breath. "Then… then how about this? You kill him first—"

"Kasenhis, see him out," Dumbledore said coldly.

"You're making me look like some kind of personal enforcer or something. It feels weird," Kasenhis said, but even as he spoke, he naturally grabbed Fudge, hoisted him up, and tossed him out of the headmaster's office.

Seeing this, Barty Crouch let out a relieved smile. "Thank you."

"You don't need to thank us. This is an equal transaction at this point, isn't it?" Dumbledore replied.

"I will. I still have ways to influence the Daily Prophet. Rita Skeeter has already stepped back, hasn't she? My people have already moved from behind the scenes to the front. You can rest assured," Barty Crouch responded.

"That would be best."

"And Fudge is very likely to start biting people like a mad dog. At this point, anyone could become his enemy," Barty Crouch explained.

"But that doesn't make sense. What does he gain from making enemies on all sides?" Kasenhis didn't quite understand.

"He was never a qualified politician… May I ask you to send me back to the Ministry? As soon as possible," Barty Crouch said.

"You can choose the fireplace, or have Professor Kasenhis send you," Dumbledore said.

"I'll trouble you, Professor Kasenhis." Barty Crouch nodded to Kasenhis.

"No problem." Kasenhis simply nodded. With a force field wrapping around the two of them, in just an instant, Barty Crouch vanished, while Kasenhis was still standing there properly in place.

"…Where did he go?" Dumbledore asked.

"Back to his office." Kasenhis shrugged, then looked at Dumbledore again. "Why not just get rid of Fudge?"

"Because there's no need. There's no need to get rid of anyone. Without competition, there is no leverage. Now that the two of them are competing, Hogwarts is support they both must have. If only one of them remained, we would have no choice but to negotiate on their terms—or even be controlled by them instead," Dumbledore explained.

"Oh… so that's how it is. You people who play tactics really are dirty at heart," Kasenhis said, suddenly enlightened.

"Go check on Harry," Dumbledore said as he stepped out of the headmaster's office.

Before long, they arrived at the hospital wing. All of Harry's wounds had already healed, but at this very moment, she was staring at Snape with a distinctly strange look in her eyes.

Snape frowned slightly, puzzled. "What's wrong with you?"

"Professor, why… am I still… a girl right now?" Harry asked.

"Perhaps you drank too large a dose at the time. After all, Kasenhis did not follow my instructions and measure the ingredients in micrograms," Snape explained expressionlessly.

"Then, Professor, when will my antidote be ready?" Harry asked, resigned.

"One month," Snape said.

"Alright."

Kasenhis had only come to take a look. After confirming that Harry was fine, he Ender-teleported back to his home on Baker Street.

He appeared directly in Sherlock's bedroom, then headed downstairs toward the living room.

"So… how did you end up coming down from upstairs?" Watson asked Kasenhis with a completely baffled expression as he watched him walk down.

"I've gotten really into skydiving lately. You know how it is," Kasenhis said, recalling the layout from when he'd renovated the place. Before long, he went back upstairs and came down again with two suitcases.

"What are you doing now?" Watson said, confused but choosing to respect it.

"You and Sherlock are probably going to have to leave Britain for a while," Kasenhis said somewhat helplessly, packing Watson's luggage like a dutiful house elf.

"Uh, what do you mean?" Watson asked blankly.

"It means I've made some rather impressive enemies. So maybe you need to go lie low for a bit. Go abroad. Leaving Europe altogether wouldn't be a bad idea," Kasenhis said as he stuffed things into the suitcase for Watson.

"So… you've gone and pissed off terrorists again?" Watson's expression turned strange.

"Very obviously, yes," Kasenhis sighed.

"How long are we supposed to hide this time?" Watson sighed as well.

"Who knows? Two years, three years, four years?" Kasenhis said casually.

"Bloody hell!" Watson resigned himself and crouched down to pack along with him.

"So? This is starting already?" Sherlock asked as he finally came out of the bathroom, fastening his belt as he spoke.

"Obviously. Don't just stand around," Kasenhis said, rolling his eyes.

"I need an English-speaking society, and preferably one with plenty of cases," Sherlock said. Instead of starting to pack, he picked up a small dart from the table and threw it at the map hanging on the wall.

Whoosh…bang.

"America? That's acceptable," Sherlock shrugged.

Before long, the two of them had finished packing, booked the earliest flight available, and drove straight to the airport.

After watching them leave, Kasenhis also returned to Hogwarts.

In these turbulent times, it wasn't just Dumbledore who was busy. The professors at Hogwarts were busy too.

Of course, there were also those who weren't.

For example, Lupin and Sirius—two surplus people who didn't seem to know where they were supposed to be.

"If you really don't know where to go, you can go sit with Harry in the hospital wing for a while," Professor McGonagall said, looking at the two former students who were standing there like useless old vegetables, clearly at a loss.

"Oh… alright, Professor," Sirius and Lupin said, heads lowered, as they walked toward the hospital wing—only to be promptly kicked out by Madam Pomfrey.

Of the two now wandering Hogwarts with nowhere to go, Sirius finally smacked his own forehead and came up with an idea.

"Let's go to Kasenhis's office!" he said, slapping so hard it felt like the light bulb over his head shattered.
