Chapter 49 - My Immortal

The eerie pink moon hang on the horizon of Kokoro Island. In Kurenai Village, inside a particular large residential house documents scattered over the place. The one causing this mess was Lila. She frantically moved from one drawer to another, trying to find any useful information. However, the result remained the same, prompting her to throw papers over the place, obscuring the fancy Japanese furniture.

'This is bad! Why does his Tama have to be Wisdom tier?'

Anxiety could be traced in each move Lila made around the room —it was big, but today it was oddly small.

The matter isn't something to scoff at. Wisdom tier Tama users were hunted all over the world. Worse be it, a Tama like Shinji's which could produce Rei —her man would be made into a lab rat, before having it taken away.

The Tama's ability to produce human bodies can be exploited by the old guys, who would transfer their souls into them to prolong their lives.

'No! No! No! This can't be happening! Not to my soulmate!'

Her eyes scanned the surrounding papers. She has never taken her big brother's research seriously before, but now she is. No one knew what his initial Tama is, because he never uses it in public, but her gut suspects it's a wisdom tier.

Her green eyes turn over to Shinji, who peaked his head out through the curtains to get a view of the outside world with his hands behind his back. He seemed to not care about the consequences of having a wisdom tier Tama —Lila knows someone in the White Room because of it.

Shinji mutters with a smile:

"For a Shojo you live in such a poor house. I almost forgot, you're no longer the Shojo."

"I have my reasons!" She said, frustration visible in her voice, "Aren't you going to help me?!"

"Eh..."

The man in the scholar robes shrugs his shoulders, and her heart sank. Lila had asked him to explain how his Tama works, but he omitted information, saying that she wasn't listening to him at first. The two had a fight because of it, and Shinji won because he never raised his voice —he saw everything as a joke.

Looking at his innocent back, tears began to form in her eyes.

'If only it were that easy. Although, the world is at peace, it's at its cruelest point. People randomly disappear because of saying or having the wrong things.'

Sensing her gaze, Shinji finished delegating the plan he had in mind. He is going to ask Lucien for assist later —he isn't confident without his assistant. However, at the moment, he has to deal with this mad girl before she loses her mind.

"Do you know why we like the First Tama-Artist?"

Lila's fury deepened upon hearing that question. She smacks her lips:

"Stop being delusional! He is just a fictional character. Can you believe, a world with moving objects that can carry more than 25 people without Tama?! The world is, and was always like this!"

Shinji sighs, he wanted to tell her that his Tama told him that this world used to look that way unconsciously. However, he answers his own question.

"We like him because he is reckless. He lost a lot to gain nothing, yet at the end, he lost half of what he wanted, to gain the last laugh... not just a laugh, a beautiful one that was recorded in heaven.

"It's a sad story, but his sarcasm covers it. We read about him to gain wisdom."

"Stop acting like my crazy big brother! I don't want to hear those words!," Lila's voice became weak as pity coated it, "Please focus on reality."

Shinji puts a serene smile.

"Do you know why they want to kill Derniere?"

Lila cringes, moving some paper from her thighs in preparation to get up.

"This has nothing to do with my half-brother."

Shinji ignores her.

"Lucien Derniere Etoile knows more than what meets the eye. He knows the events of the last Great War. I, for one, want to know more than him. I want to unravel the mysteries of heaven and earth. All the things they hide from us, I want to make it known."

"That's crazy."

"My dream is even more crazy."

Lila ignored him, standing up.

'I need something to cool my mind. My half-brother told me he is not serious, but I never thought this much.'

Sighing, she turns around only to see Shinji standing right in front her. As the raspberry scent penetrates her nostrils, Lila's heart skips a bit, forgetting her previous predicament.

"Are you with me?" Shinji asked.

His hands went over to her waist, but the thought of him suffering made Lila tear up. Kissing her lips for a few seconds, he pulls away, whispering in her ear:

"There is no need to worry about me. I can use a single function of my Tama. Also, I can get another Tama to hide it."

Although trembling in delight from his sweet intonation, Lila blinks a few times.

'Isn't that the method my crazy brother uses?! Why didn't I think of that?!'

Her hands going over to Shinji's neck, she starts crying. She was worrying about useless things! There is no rule stopping one from having many Tama; mostly, one wouldn't suspect if he uses a single function on his Tama!!

However, her cries came to a sudden halt, feeling something go loose around her chest. A pink blush covers her face, her hands going over to Shinji's chest in an attempt to pull away.

"Wha...what d...did... you do?" She asked in a stuttering tone.

Shinji shrugs.

"I'm a man."

Seeing his hands go to her perfectly shaped hips, she warns, "Shinji, you shouldn't be doing this. You, can't handle me... yet."

—She is asking for it!!!

Furious, Shinji brings her closer to him —she isn't putting much of a resistance—, a sly smile emerging on his face.

"Woman, didn't I tell you about The Tree with Leaves of Many Colours; it's time to get my fruit to be immortal."

Seeing the young man already on her nape like a vampire, Lila put one final yell of resistance.

"Please stop! My body is special! I'll only use you to get stronger!"

Shinji moves her thigh to his waist, firmly gripping it. A gentle, lustrous voice finds it's way out of his lips.

"Aren't I your man?"

"I've a lot of stamina!"

Lila regretted her last call in human words after 3 hours, and also, the fact that she didn't plead for what the author doesn't know earlier.
