TWO LITTLE HOUSEFLIES, IN THE CHANDELIER.
With Sora patched on his lips, Lucien coldly looks at the blond girl shyly looking at him. Inside, he was happy.
—I miss you! You look great! Can I kiss you? Are you comfortable telling me your name now? By the way this and that happened! Thank you for coming to see me.
However, Lucien kept his true emotions Inside, focusing on his goals and what his mind told him to do. Acting like she was invisible, he passes next to her, looking at Shinji and Tento staring at a distance.
Meanwhile, the pink eyes opened her mouth trying to say something, but no words came out. Lucien always greeted her with a smile, and sweet words. Now, nonetheless, she was more than JUST a neighbor to him.
Taking a deep breath, she recalls everything she has been wanting to tell him since Akane died.
"Derniere, you have a kind heart. I know you remember what your Akanechan did to you during the first years of your life, yet you choose to forgive her."
Lucien somewhat flinched. How sharp is her memory? He said it once when they were seven, but she still remembers.
Forcing herself to remember, the Blondie continues in a more woebegone tone.
"She showed you love once, and you forgave her. Stop this meaningless quest for revenge, and be with me. I love you, Derniere. All you need is love, right? You know, mine is already yours."
"I can't do that."
—Yes, if you do, the novel will be over!!!
Sensing the soft hand that was attempting to reach his right, Lucien slaps it away. Turning his head, indifferently gazing at the girl, contrasting thoughts emerging from him.
His heart said, 'I want to be with you more than anything,' but his mind stated:
"You are being delusional."
"Ah! Derniere!"
The girl shuddered, stepping back unable to withstand the vicious words.
'I can't stop revenge now after what they did to me and my mother. Even if I did, they won't let me go since they've already started to hunt me before I do anything.
'I know I make you happy, but being with a lowlife like me will only make your life difficult. I don't want you to suffer in the slightest. But it's better to see you get hurt for a month, that see you get hurt for a lifetime.'
Holding his emotions, he remains stoic.
"I don't need your love, nor do I care about it. At the end, it won't benefit me with anything. I know my heart is kind, but my mindset isn't, sometimes I even think of sacrificing myself to destroy the whole world, it's just the way it is.
"Take my words to heart, I DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU OR YOUR FEELINGS FOR ME. I feel nothing towards you, not even hate. If I see you being eaten by beast, I might save you, but after you lose a limb or two. It's just the way I'm, I don't just save people."
"..."
The Blondie trembled, her face twisting in an assortment of emotions. Lucien's words cut deeper than a billion blades, worse he didn't even care about the her tears as he continued even more coldly.
"I don't want to know your name any more, or your secret origin. YOU'RE NOTHING TO ME. We promised to marry each other when we were young, but now I'm married to my shadow.
"I don't care if you make my life hell... it has already been that way since the beginning. I don't even care about my body. As a vengeful spirit I will pursue my goals even more, since I won't be tied back by useless emotions in this body of dust.
"I never asked you to love me, nor did I beg you to it. If you want to kill me for what I have done, I don't care. I don't fear death, worse being alone. No one ever hugged me when I was born, or cried for me, and so, I expect my ending to be the same.
"When I was born, my mother carried me by the neck and placed me at the front of her bedroom door; poked my heart with a knife, making me bleed, but I didn't cry. How pleasant if that would be the way I die."
As he concluded, Lucien continues his walk like she was one of the people in the camp. On the hand, oblivious to his eyes watering, tears stream down the girl's cheeks, the pain in her chest deepening to a point it was comparable to a woman giving birth.
Her mouth trembles, as if, she was suffering from frost bite. From the first day she saw Lucien, she knew she was ugly, and he was going to leave her in the future.
In her mind, bitter, sweet dreams of being with the man she loves shatters into fine particles of glass. Better of, if everything is just an illusion, but the coldness from his words still resounding in her mind confirmed reality for her.
A mourn came out slowly like water from a pin sized hole on a balloon, before they busted out into a wild shriek.
Waaaahhh!!!
—Please don't cry.
Lucien wanted to embrace her, yet he kept his play. She might have a strong background, but Lucy is making himself the enemy of the whole world; what if one of her parents played part in messing his life? She might be strong, but one day she might be killed for an ant like Lucien.
Wiping his tears, Lucy places Sora under a tree shed, turning around to look at the crying beauty. Thinking for a second, he decides to add salt to her pain.
"You're making a lot of noise, I need to go back to my job."
Woooo...
A heavy wind blew past the green grass taking away the girl's cries. She wipes her running noise, forcing a smile that showed she is a terrible actor.
"What job do you have besides sitting around at the moment?"
"Thinking,"
"..."
The Blondie's mouth drops slightly in shock. Was this heartless bastard trying to console her? Well, his EQ is dead as the expressions on his face, so it's possible.
—Could there still be something between us?
Hiding her smile, she looks at the ground.
"What could that archive?... You get more confused from thinking."
"I need to stop thinking. Back when I was a few months old I had no thoughts, I was more alive back then. As I grew more thoughts appeared; a conclusion occurred to me: the more you think, the more you're closer to madness, as such invite danger and death. I need to kill my thoughts, one by one, till I reach a perfect state where I don't think necessarily and focus on what I want."
'What did I expect? This is Lucien Derniere Etoile, he doesn't lie.'
The girl almost rolled her eyes at her own stupidity.
Pressing her lips, she swallows a few words, yelling in a rage filled voice:
"If you stop thinking...then, then you die!"
Lucy crosses his arms, shaking his head.
"No, dead people think forever, and that's why the closer you're to death you start to suffer from bipolar disorder."
Listening to the man in a blue kimono, the Blondie wanted to ask about his mother if he had such respect for the dead, but he coldly said the answer out first:
"My mother's soul was eaten alive, she no-longer exists in heaven or the underworld."
A cold silence washed between the two, the wind only made it worse by not blowing, leaving only the coldness of the winter.
After a minute, the girl snaps her head, vehemently biting her lips. Her face, still gorgeous as the sunset on the garden of rainbow flowers, poured the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans from both her eyelids.
Her pain of losing everything she loved felt she had been crucified on a stick; boiled in a pot of petrol that ignites mid-way.
—I hurt her that much.
Lucien secretly bites his lips, his eyes darting about, avoiding eye contact.
A woman's tears—for him— aren't something he is able to take. He clearly remembers when he made the strongest woman (his mother) cry; that shook him to the core of his existence. It might be different, but the feeling is just as excruciating.
'I can't stand watching her like this.'
Taking a step forward, he prepares himself to explain himself, but the taste in his mouth made him reconsider. After a minute, he says:
"Seeing you makes my heart cry. I don't want to be with you. Just get lost. I don't love myself that much, and I don't expect someone to do it, nor do I want someone to. As long as I have my mind, I need no one. I forsook my body and soul a long time a long time ago. Life is already hell for me, and if I go there it will be the same in the end - I'll adjust as I've to this cold reality of loss and pain. In the end, it will be just... pain, something I'm quite used to now, that's all it is. That's what we live to get, yet deny.
"I act based on interest. I work with those with a similar mindset, not someone who is willing to cling to me because of a childhood fantasy based on love and lust."
"Fufufu..."
The Blondie chuckled, wiping her tears. Taking a step, she incites Lucien to step back. She smiles, taking further steps.
"Your heart cries for whom?"
Looking at her vicious smile, Lucien flinches, sweating in this cold weather.
—I had a slip of tongue.
"Wait, I can..."
Before he could finish his words, Lucien was embraced by the girl. Her head rubs on his chest, and he could feel a mesmerizing scent, out of this world, from her that made him paralyzed for a second.
'Why is she the only being that smells nice?'
Lucien complimented in his mind. He couldn't dare call such a woven person whose beauty is the reason why the sun is bright, 'human'.
Feeling defeated, Lucien places his hands around the edges of her waist just above her hips. Since two people were still watching from the distance, he decided to not cross any boundaries.
After a minute of feeling his warmth, the girl jumps, interlocking her legs around his waist. Her arms passed around his head, inciting her to feel his lukewarm, sakura blossom breath.
'I want to kiss him, but I've to tell him what dad told me.'
—Him possessing that boy was his reminder.
She places her forehead on his Adam's apple.
"I'll wait for you to finish your revenge. Also, my father told me to let you that it would be selfish and irrational of me, if I stop you."
Lucien raises his brows. However, that was nothing shocking compared to what happened next.
In the next second, he was teleported to a futuristic room with neon, red amber lights. Furthermore, drawing of him flew in the air making something akin to a rainbow. Although Lucien was flustered, he paled in comparison to one of the houseflies hiding in the chandelier.
"To think Akane's son would bring himself to me. Maybe I should slap him for what his mother did to me."
"If you do that, you'll kill him."
—I want to slap him for what he did to our daughter. However, if I do that, you'll use our past to protect him, as always.
Keeping its words, the houseful flaps its wings, moving out of the room.
"Yes, my idiot of a wife is always right."
The other housefly followed.
"Why do you call me that? No, why do you still hate Akane after all these years?"
"If Lucien knew the truth about his dreaded mother, he would feel the same way as me."
