Looking at the vibrant lilies outside, she spoke calmly and serenely, "Even if his kindness towards me now is because he wants to make amends, even if he truly cares about me, I won't return to him."
Maggie walked up behind Rachel and asked sadly, "Why? Because you really don't love Kingsly anymore?"
"Do you see those lilies outside?" Rachel suddenly asked Maggie this question.
Maggie followed Rachel's gaze and nodded. "They're doing well."
"Do you know that every winter, they wither, but come the next year, they flourish again?"

"Every year they wither, yet they insist on coming back to life every year. Why wouldn't a person choose to flourish again after experiencing withering instead of continuing to wither?" Rachel's beautiful face was calm and resolute. "Isn't it good to be flourishing like this?"
