Logan pressed his hands tightly against the wall, wishing desperately that he possessed the ability to phase through it.
Forcing out a smile that looked more painful than weeping, Logan asked with tragic indignation, "What do you guys want?"
Hearing this, Remy LeBeau flashed a wicked grin. "Wedding photos."
Logan: "?"
"Haha!"
Mike and Hank Pym couldn't hold it back and burst out laughing.
Just then, Scott silently turned around to look at the two of them.
"You two, as well."
"?"
Mike and Hank immediately began inching toward the door.
However, Nick Fury, his face plastered with heavy makeup, had already blocked the exit.
"Where do you think you're going?"
His blood-red lips stretched wide, revealing a smile that sent chills down their spines.
Mike and Hank exchanged a glance and screamed.
In the end, the "Thunder Squad," established more than twenty years ago, was thoroughly disbanded due to this photo incident.
However, it left behind some truly "precious" photographs.
In the photo, Mike, Hank Pym, and Logan wore expressions of sheer terror, while the three heavily made-up fellows—Nick Fury, Remy LeBeau, and Scott—smiled brilliantly.
It was a group photo of these old friends, and by the looks of it, the only one of its kind that would ever exist.
After the photo session concluded, Logan was finally liberated.
"Damn it, you people are psychopaths!"
Logan cursed at them furiously, but looking at the appearance of Remy and the other two, he finally couldn't hold back and burst out laughing.
"Hahahaha!"
The laughter of the group rang out together.
"What are you laughing at? Emma is already... Ah!"
Accompanied by Raven's scream, the six men in the room froze.
In the next second, as Raven's laughter erupted, Scott and the other two acted as if they had been electrocuted, frantically lifting their skirt hems to cover their faces.
"I didn't see anything! You guys carry on. I just came to tell you that Emma is ready. If you are ready, the ceremony can begin."
As Raven spoke, she backed away, thoughtfully closing the door for the six old boys.
However, even after the door clicked shut, Raven's uncontrollable laughter penetrated through the wood.
Fortunately, Remy LeBeau was thick-skinned enough to recover quickly.
He flipped his wig and said to Mike, "Open a portal. We need to go clean up."
Mike pointed at the door.
"Walk out through there."
They had the guts to prank them, but no guts to let others see? That wouldn't do.
Remy stiffened, then walked rapidly toward Mike.
"Are you opening it or not? If you don't, I'll... Honey, I'm coming!"
Remy shrieked and charged toward Mike with large strides.
Mike shuddered. A portal quietly appeared between him and Remy, swallowing the latter whole.
"I really can't stand him!"
Mike shivered again, speaking with a face full of speechlessness.
Scott and Nick Fury laughed and quickly walked through as well.
Once those three eyesores vanished from the room, Mike and the other two breathed a sigh of relief.
A short while later, after everyone had cleaned up, Mike and the others clustered around Logan, bringing him to Emma's room and pushing him inside.
And then... Logan was dumbstruck.
When he saw Emma, dressed in a white wedding gown and looking like a veritable Ice Queen, he felt as though the rest of the world had faded away, leaving only her.
"Emma... you look beautiful."
"Pfft!"
Seeing Logan's dazed expression, Emma couldn't help but chuckle. She walked up to him and gently kissed his cheek.
Instantly, it was as if Logan had been injected with a massive shot of adrenaline; his entire being lit up with excitement.
He grabbed Emma's hand, charged out of the room, and sprinted toward the auditorium.
"Let's go, everyone! The wedding is starting!"
Mike laughed, calling out as he and the others chased after them.
The entrance, the vows, the exchange of rings.
Everything went smoothly. Amidst the blessings of the crowd, Logan and Emma shared a deep, passionate kiss.
Half a month later.
New York, Mike's home.
Gwen was happily packing her luggage. The mere thought that the whole family was going on a trip tomorrow made the corners of her mouth curl up uncontrollably.
"RV, RV..."
Gwen murmured, unable to resist walking to the window to look downstairs.
Parked at the curb in front of their house was a large recreational vehicle.
Tomorrow, their family would drive this RV and set off on a journey.
They could go wherever they wanted, stop wherever they pleased.
Beautiful scenery, delicious food, and family.
"It's just perfect."
Gwen couldn't help but praise the idea, mentally giving Mike thirty-two thumbs-up for coming up with this plan.
Meanwhile, in Mike's bedroom, he and Raven were watching Little Lamb pack his own things.
Yes, packing on his own.
Although Little Lamb had only been born a little over two months ago, he was now no different from a two-year-old child, and he was still growing at a rapid pace every day.
"Papa!"
Little Lamb called out to Mike, pointing a small finger at a dinosaur toy not far away.
Mike handed it to him. The little guy stuffed the toy into his suitcase, closed it, and flashed a smile at Mike and Raven.
"All packed? You're amazing!"
Raven picked up Little Lamb and planted a firm kiss on his cheek, which looked like a soft little bun.
"Hehe!"
Little Lamb laughed happily and hugged Raven back.
Just then, Mike walked toward Raven, reached out his hands to Little Lamb, and smiled. "Come on, time to study with Papa."
Little Lamb shook his head and buried his face in Raven's chest.
Mike looked helpless.
Little Lamb was obedient most of the time, but when he didn't want to do something, he refused with absolute stubbornness.
"Let's forget it for today," Raven said, stroking Little Lamb's head with a doting expression.
Due to Little Lamb constantly awakening new abilities, Mike had started teaching the little guy how to control his powers a week ago, back when Little Lamb was still in his strictly obedient phase.
Little Lamb learned quickly and could already control some simple abilities. Unfortunately, he still couldn't control his time-acceleration power. Therefore, Mike had decided to seize this time to focus on teaching him how to manage that specific ability.
But looking at Little Lamb now, it seemed he wasn't very interested in cooperating.
Mike shook his head and tapped Little Lamb's nose.
"You have to practice properly tomorrow, okay?"
Little Lamb thought for a moment, nodded, smiled happily, and then climbed down from Raven to rush into his pile of toys, playing delightfully.
Mike shook his head and began to pack his own things.
Their trip this time would be long, lasting until Gwen's school term started.
After packing and leaving a message for Clark and the others, the lights in Mike's house went dark.
Walter was panicking.
Although he looked perfectly calm on the surface, his heart felt like it was about to beat out of his chest.
It had been some time since he was "invited" here by MODOK.
Here, he felt like an emperor. He could eat whatever he wanted, drink whatever he wanted, and if he desired, any woman he fancied would be sent to his bed.
He had been happy—so happy that he had forgotten he was originally just a car thief.
That was until just now, when MODOK's subordinate notified him that the "Nano Warrior Test" would take place tomorrow. He was required to participate in the experiment and offer his "valuable opinions." That woke him up.
What valuable opinions could he possibly have? He didn't know jack about science!
But if he couldn't offer an opinion, he would be suspected. If he was suspected, he would likely be killed...
"No! I have to get out of here!"
Walter muttered, sitting up in bed.
Immediately, he grabbed his hair in distress.
There were people taking care of (monitoring) him here. If he showed even a hint of wanting to escape, he would be suspected instantly.
Given MODOK's capabilities, they would easily find him, and he wouldn't escape death.
"What should I do?"
Walter whispered in despair.
Suddenly, as if struck by a thought, his eyes slowly lit up.
He couldn't handle MODOK, but there were people who could!
He was being monitored, but there was someone who could go out!
He could send his lackey, Alan, to find the Avengers!
"Bringing him along with me was the smartest thing I ever did!"
Walter jumped up from the bed in excitement.
Patting his face, Walter whispered, "I need to be calm. I need to be calm!"
"My persona in front of Alan cannot crumble. If Alan turns on me and tells MODOK about this, I'm dead!"
"I have to think of a way..."
He muttered to himself, feeling that he had never applied himself this hard, not even for the most important exam in his childhood.
Finally, as if an idea had struck, a smile appeared on his face.
"I really am a genius!"
Walter couldn't help but praise himself. He rubbed his somewhat stiff face to restore it to its best "acting state," then picked up his phone and called Alan.
"Come to my room!"
He spoke in his coolest, most detached voice, and without giving the other party a chance to speak, he hung up directly.
Alan lived downstairs; it shouldn't take him long to get here.
But as time ticked by, exceeding his expectations, Walter began to worry.
It was just one floor down. Even if this place was large, it shouldn't take two minutes. But more than ten minutes had passed—why wasn't he here yet?
Could it be... he realized something was wrong and went to find MODOK?
Impossible, right? He had only said one sentence!
Walter was anxious.
Just then, a knock sounded at the door.
Walter hurriedly ran two steps, but when he was a few paces from the door, he subconsciously adjusted his breathing to return to his cold demeanor. He opened the door indifferently.
Alan was standing outside, wearing a suit. His strong, muscular body filled the suit to the bursting point.
He changed clothes in the middle of the night?
Walter felt something was off, but he still said coolly, "Come in!"
Alan nodded and hurried inside.
Standing at the door, the man whose job was nominally to obey and serve Walter—but in reality, to monitor him—flashed an ambiguous, knowing smile at Walter and whispered, "Mr. Walter, I'll keep my ears closed."
Walter gave a light hmph and slammed the door shut.
The next second, the man standing outside spat on the ground fiercely.
"Disgusting!"
He muttered under his breath and moved further away from the door.
Inside the room, Walter had Alan sit on the sofa. Just as he was about to speak, he saw Alan tear open his shirt, take out his false teeth, and walk toward him with a determined expression.
Walter was stunned. He frowned. "What are you doing?"
Alan spoke quickly in his deep, thick voice, "Mr. Walter, I guessed long ago that this day would come."
Walter was shocked.
Did Alan guess my objective? Did he find out I'm just an ordinary car thief?
Walter's hands sweated with nervousness.
He never expected Alan's next sentence, which made the corners of his mouth twitch wildly.
"If it's you, to repay your kindness... I am willing!"
As he spoke, Alan struck a pose.
Walter nodded.
Willing is good... good my ass!
He kicked Alan, saying with slight anger, "I didn't call you here for that!"
"Not for that?"
Aside from relief, Alan felt confusion and a tiny hint of disappointment.
He had spent time mentally preparing himself and had even specially changed into a suit.
Walter took a deep breath and said coldly, "I told you, I'm not that kind of person. I'm not interested in you."
Alan revealed a happy smile and let out a long sigh of relief.
"I called you here to entrust you with an important matter."
Alan nodded, waiting for Walter's arrangement.
Walter whispered, "When you came, who saw you?"
"Only that guy at the door."
"Very good!"
Walter breathed a sigh of relief.
This meant that when Alan left later, no one should suspect him. After all, coming out of his room in the middle of the night...
Walter felt both fortunate and annoyed.
After a moment of contemplation, Walter grit his teeth secretly and said, "I am not a super criminal."
Alan nodded. "Right, you are the hero who saved me from the Whispers."
When Walter had saved him from those bastards, he had looked like an angel in Alan's eyes.
Walter felt helpless, but maintaining his cool expression, he said again, "I didn't go to prison because I was caught. The Avengers sent me in."
What's the difference?
Alan looked confused.
"Sending me in means... I am with them. I am their spy!"
Alan froze, almost shouting in surprise.
He looked at Walter in shock. Seeing Walter nod, he took a deep breath, excitement flashing across his face. "I knew you were a good person!"
Walter quickly explained, "I was sent to prison by them because they wanted me to find evidence of MODOK's crimes."
"You mean, all of that was arranged by the Avengers?"
"Correct!" Walter nodded. "They are very formidable!"
Alan said excitedly, "So, are we preparing to arrest him now?"
"Yes!"
Walter nodded, then frowned. "But there is a problem now. I am being monitored and cannot get this news to the Avengers."
"So, you want me to go notify the Avengers?"
Alan was somewhat nervous, but mostly excited.
"Exactly!"
"I'll go to Avengers Tower to find them right now!"
Alan said, preparing to rush out.
Walter grabbed Alan and said helplessly, "Aren't you looking to die? That will expose us."
If MODOK's men were also watching Alan, he would be taken out on the way to Avengers Tower.
"Then what should I do?"
"I know a place where a large number of Avengers gather. Once you get there, you just have to..."
