A Kryptonian scout ship detached from the mothership and flew off into the distance.

Seeing this, Zod secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

As long as the Genesis Chamber inside the scout ship was intact, there was still hope for Krypton.

Now, all he needed to do was eliminate or delay Mike—keep him too occupied to pursue the scout ship.

With that in mind, he looked down at Mike in the mothership. After a brief pause, he clenched his fists and launched himself toward him.

Mike raised a hand to intercept, but was sent flying and embedded into the ship like a nail driven into wood.

The next second, two crimson beams shot out, striking Zod and blasting him away. Mike burst out from the lower deck of the ship.

At that moment, a voice rang out from within the cabin—one Zod was very familiar with.

It was Duncan, his subordinate scientist.

"General! We're under attack! I was ambushed by the enemy! It's him—the one who killed Cook! No—our ship!"

Boom! Boom!

Amid chilling screams, Duncan fell into complete silence.

"Duncan! Duncan!"

Zod called out in a low voice, his expression shifting to shock and fury as he glared at Mike. "Damn you! What have you done!?"

Sensing the return of strength and memories from his disappearing shadow clone, Mike let out a sigh of relief.

The scout ship had been destroyed.

He couldn't afford to let it escape, only for some Kryptonian scientist to return years later with an army seeking vengeance.

"You already know, don't you?"

Mike said indifferently to Zod.

Hearing this, Zod lost all composure. His expression twisted in pain and fury as he was consumed by killing intent.

That scout ship had been Krypton's last hope—and Mike had utterly crushed it!

At that moment, Zod's soul, his hope, his future—everything—was obliterated in that explosion.

From the thrill of finding hope, to the verge of success, and then back into utter despair—Zod had completely collapsed.

"AAARGH!"

He roared like a madman and charged at Mike.

Mike sighed softly, caught Zod's attack, tilted his head to dodge the heat vision, but was suddenly struck in the abdomen by a savage knee strike.

Whoosh!

Mike was launched through the air, smashing through the ship's hull and emerging into space.

In the blink of an eye, Zod had caught up, fists clenched with burning rage and hatred as he descended from above to smash Mike's head.

Mike raised his hand to block, but was once again slammed back into the ship.

A massive hole tore open in the ship's hull. Mike's eyes glinted as he steadied himself and dodged Zod's follow-up attack.

This enraged Zod... wasn't so terrifying after all?

Mike mused inwardly as he weaved effortlessly through Zod's flurry of blows in midair.

This would be his final battle, and since his opponent was the Kryptonian General, Mike decided to show respect by not using the kryptonite short spear.

Besides... he didn't need it.

With his current strength, even without his card-based powers, he could easily defeat Zod!

Once more, Mike dodged Zod's attack. When red light flashed in Zod's eyes, Mike let out a cold snort and unleashed his own heat vision, meeting Zod's head-on.

Energy waves exploded. Both men staggered slightly before vanishing from sight again.

Boom!

Their fists collided with tremendous force.

A shockwave erupted from the center, sweeping out in all directions.

Then, they vanished again.

Boom! Boom!

Thunderous impacts echoed throughout the ship as two dark shadows streaked across the interior like blurry threads.

With each collision, craters formed under their feet, and the wild shockwaves wrecked everything nearby.

"Ugh!"

Zod took a kick to the head and was sent flying, smashing through everything in his path like a wrecking ball.

Mike narrowed his eyes slightly.

Just now, his final shadow clone had vanished. All his scattered strength had returned.

Watching Zod struggle to his feet, Mike gave him a faint smile and beckoned with a finger. His icy blue eyes remained calm and emotionless, like frozen steel.

"RAAARGH!"

Having lost everything, Zod stomped the ground with rage.

Boom!

The black metal floor cracked and warped beneath him as he shot toward Mike with a sharp whistle.

With a deafening crash, Zod's fist collided with Mike's palm. Neither man moved, but the floor beneath them cracked like spiderwebs.

As Mike twisted and locked Zod's wrist, Zod swung his other fist toward Mike's side.

But Mike was faster!

With a sharp tug of Zod's arm, he unbalanced him—and then delivered a brutal knee strike to Zod's abdomen.

Zod's eyes bulged as the immense force bent his body inward. The sheer power blew through his body and blasted out behind him, creating a howling wind that swept the area.

Gritting his teeth, Zod raised his head. His eyes began to glow red again—only to realize Mike had disappeared.

Without hesitation, Zod, still airborne from the last blow, retreated.

BOOM!

A figure dropped from where Zod had been, stomping the floor and leaving a massive footprint. Before the sound had even faded, Mike had vanished again—closing the distance and grabbing Zod's ankle.

With a quick backward bend to dodge Zod's retaliatory heat vision, he swung him like a hammer.

BANG!

The floor shattered, and Zod plummeted downward.

Mike's eyes flashed as he dove through the hole to follow.

The sounds of fists and feet colliding echoed non-stop. Their brutal brawl left massive holes throughout the ship—it was now on the verge of collapse.

At last, the massive mothership was torn apart.

Explosions bloomed in space. Debris from the ship scattered outward in every direction.

Seeing this, Clark and the Kryptonian, Bach, were both startled mid-fight.

Suddenly, Clark's expression turned to delight, while Bach roared in fury and flew toward the battlefield.

He saw Mike holding Zod by the throat, one arm wrapped around his head. With a powerful twist, he snapped Zod's neck—killing him instantly.

Mike let Zod's body float into space.

It was, perhaps, the most dignified death Zod could have received.

Just then, Bach flew in from behind. Mike allowed him to strike his body, then grabbed Bach's arm. In his other hand, a kryptonite short spear materialized—and he plunged it into Bach's chest.

Even so, Bach roared in defiance. As the kryptonite pierced him, he still inched forward and slammed a fist into Mike's face.

Staring into Bach's furious, hate-filled eyes, Mike's expression didn't waver.

That look... he had seen it countless times, many years ago—back when he was still a killer.

He had long since grown used to it.
