Shido shook his head and decided to put those thoughts at the back of his head for now.
Still, as he glanced down below to the crowd of people walking on every direction like an ant, Shido somehow have a feeling the same as those emperors looking down on their subjects.
The thought made Shido laughed wryly at himself thinking that his chunibyo tendency were starting to act up again.
While cooling himself off on the balcony, Shido suddenly realized something he forgot to mention to the system.
"Right, I forgot to ask this earlier… but those monsters I killed in ALO don't give me any experience, do they?" Shido asked curiously.
Earlier, while grinding for Yrd, Shido didn't even hear the sound of his system notification, only the system from ALO so it made him curious.
[Technically, Host is able to gain experience from defeating monsters. However, since your level has been limited to match this world's parameters, all accumulated experience will only be granted after completing every quest.]
Shido nodded, finding it reasonable that he wouldn't gain any experience for now. "I see."
Still, while Shido understood the situation, he couldn't help but feel that it was a bit troublesome how the system seemed to be manipulating everything. Though, he wasn't really complaining that much since the system was quite generous.
In the end, Shido shook his head and decided to deal with it later since his stomach was already growling in protest.
He headed into the kitchen and began preparing something to eat.
...
The next day, after finishing his morning exercise, which had become part of his daily routine since arriving in this world, Shido prepared a light breakfast.
Normally, simple exercises like jogging wouldn't do much to improve his physical abilities, but they helped him loosen up and stay focused. However, since he had been using [Gravity Manipulation] on his body, things had become quite different.
Although Shido couldn't use [Hadou Tensei], he was still able to utilize [Jibakujin], allowing his body to endure being under gravity many times than what a human could withstand.
With his mastery of [Gravity Manipulation], Shido could use this skill to the point where the gravity only affected his own body. That's why, he would often leave this skill activated most of the time, even when he was asleep or in a car. The gravity pressuring Shido's body only applied on him so when he was laying on his bed or riding his car, he wouldn't destroy them since they are not bearing the gravity affecting Shido.
With this skill, Shido could appear to walk normally in the eyes of others, yet in reality, his body was constantly enduring gravity fifty times stronger than normal, a force that would cause an ordinary human to explode under that kind of gravity.
After, doing his morning routine, exercising, eating breakfast and taking a bath, Shido called some of his upper ranking subbordinates and instructed them about the the operation of his business. Naturally, Rinko was among those people Shido called and once again, Rinko was working herself out which made him speecless.
He could only sigh at this woman being so workaholic so he decided to take Rinko to a holiday someday to make this woman relax for a few days.
When he finished giving instructions to his subordinates, Shido glanced at the clock hanging on the wall of his living room. Seeing that it was still early, he decided to drop by a convenience store to grab a snack or something.
Even though Shido became famous not just in the business world but also all over Japan because of his achivements that was nearly impossible to do especially at his age, he wasn't worried about being swarmed by paparazi of being surrounded by people when going out.
Why?
Because whenever he went out, Shido would always activate his [Transparency Manipulation] to reduce his presence among people, making it almost impossible for anyone to sense his existence. However, he still needed to deactivate it when buying things, since the cashier wouldn't be able to see him otherwise.
In the end, Shido could only put on a black cap to cover the upper part of his face. While some might find the look a bit suspicious, or even strange, his natural handsomeness made the cap seem less odd. Instead, it gave off the impression of a mysterious rich person.
"Thank you, please come again."
The female cashier smiled warmly as she handed Shido his change. Along with it, there was a small piece of paper. Shido didn't need to ask what it was, it was obvious what she had given him.
He couldn't help but smile wryly to himself, thinking that his charm must be really high, even without [Love Spot] activated. Outwardly, he showed no reaction and nodded to the cashier as if everything were normal.
However, as he happened to glance at hand, Shido notice a ring on her ring finger which made him sigh even and wondered whether he was just too handsome.
As the sliding door opened, its electronic chime rang out as Shido stepped out of the convenience store.
Once outside, he looked at the piece of paper the female cashier had given him. As expected, it was contact information, most likely hers. Shaking his head, Shido casually tossed the paper into the store's trash can, making sure the cashier's view was blocked.
For Shido, this small stroll felt like an adventure in an RPG game, he completed quests and received rewards. The only difference was that sometimes he didn't even need to do the quest, and the reward came to him directly, just like what the female cashier had done earlier.
Still, Shido didn't pay much attention to it as he made his way back to his apartment, with a bag of snacks in hand.
Still feeling a bit bored, Shido rummaged through the plastic bag in his hand and pulled out a popsicle. After removing the packaging, he put it into his mouth and began to enjoy it.
The flavor of the popsicle was vanilla, it was quite milky and creamy, but Shido found that he quite like it.
Shido walked through downtown as people, cars, and even animals passed by him. Unlike a quiet neighborhood, which at this hour resembled a ghost town as most residents being students or office workers were out for school or work, leaving only a few housewives chatting here and there.
In contrast, the commercial district of Shibuya was bustling, part of one of the city's busiest zones, with crowds of people and streams of vehicles all around.
As Shido walked along the sidewalk, he happened to notice a group of female students nearby, walking together down an alley.
Normally, there wouldn't be anything strange about them walking together, one would assume they were just friends. But where they were headed seemed questionable, and Shido noticed that the girl in the middle, wearing glasses, looked tense, while the other two seemed to be holding her in place, as if to keep her from running.
Seeing this, Shido raised an eyebrow and muttered, "Bullying?"
