"You both know him?" Nicholas asked, looking to his left and right.
Takken's expression became difficult while Schonfield replied swiftly.
"Yes, we believe so."
Nicholas went silent, waiting for more, wanting an explanation of our relationship, but Schonfield's lips sealed shut.
He turned to the old man with a piercing gaze, but when he found him looking into the sea, he turned to Takken, who had found the floor interesting.
"Takken," Nicholas growled.
"Nicholas, no need to get riled up, you're young, no longer in your buttering years. How about we go down and discuss this over some fine drinks?"
Something major had happened and Nicholas knew it.
He did not stamp his foot and raise a scuffle; he narrowed his eyes and then turned around.
"Come."
Nicholas marched forward, and after him was me in line. Takken and Schonfield decided to stay put till I passed before they began moving.
