Isla didn't seem surprised by the presence of the strange man in front of her. With everything that has happened to her up until now, nothing surprised her anymore. She stared at him waiting for an introduction,her chest rising and falling as she tried to control her breathing. Something about the man in front of her seemed off. His presence wasn't threatening but it wasn't comforting either. It felt as though every living thing moved towards his direction.
Sensing that he wasn't going to say anything,she asked in a low but steady voice. "Who are you? What's this place?"
He tilted his head slightly to the side observing her silently,his lips pulled up in a faint smile. His warm eyes watched her closely as though he were searching for something.
"What? Is this like… the afterlife? Am I… dead?" She asked calmly even though her heart pounded fast against her chest.
