Chapter 215 - Chapter 215 Something to hit them with.

After Tarina's mother returned to their ship, the federation vessel left.

As soon as they jumped away, Andrew rejoined the effort of getting ahead of the whole Annexation mess.

The time went by extremely fast, and before anyone knew it, the second wave of the invasion ended.

-The invasion is ending; all the invasion forces are advised to return to their universes within an hour.

A message was sent to everyone at once.

An hour later, another message was sent.

-The invasion has ended.

All the portals are now closed.

This was followed by the results of the invasion, which were catastrophic to say the least.

63% of the galaxies in the whole universe were taken over by the invasion forces from different factions.

As for the remaining 37%, they lost 79% of their lords along with their fleets and barely managed to hold out.

Leaving entire sectors of the galaxies devoid of life and filled with wrecks and the dead.

The remaining factions were all weakened enormously, with losses ranging from 30 to 90 % of their fleets and infrastructure.

Then a new countdown started.

"Transfer to battle-verse in 720:00:00"

Indicating that they had 30 days left.

After looking at the data, Andrew finally understood how lucky they were till now.

Unfortunately, this luck came with a price, which he would have to pay in the future.

After the results were displayed for all to see, another wave of envoys contacted the empire to ask for annexation or an alliance.

When they saw the losses suffered by their universe during an invasion, they had some time to prepare for and the enemy was restricted.

It became clear to most rulers that the moment they entered the Battle Verse, they would be annihilated, and their only chance for survival was to join someone more powerful.

Among the most powerful factions in the Andromeda and Milky Way galaxies, the Lantean Empire managed to gain a good reputation.

Not only because of their battle records, but also through their diplomatic relations with their neighbors.

Finally, the herd mentality was also a factor, and seeing so many small and mid-sized territories or even star nations applying to join the empire, more followed their lead, not opting for the stability and protection of the powerful star nation.

Seeing this, Andrew didn't even bother to try and upgrade everyone's fleets and defenses, as this was impossible.

Instead, he sent orders to the newly joined territories to build up their fleets as they were, with the addition of the droid crews for which he sent them schematics.

That way, even if their fleets were not up to the imperial standards, they would at least have more vessels at their disposal to delay the enemy as much as possible.

Additionally, he gave them access to drone fighters and heavy drone fighters, as well as bombs and missiles for these crafts to boost their defensive capabilities.

With these plans, all the new territories started building whole fleets of fighters, especially after seeing their effectiveness in combat against much larger warships.

In general, the whole empire was preparing for a fight for its life while annexing new territories at the same time.

A day after the invasion ended, Tibrana was ready to enter the cryo sleep.

She didn't want to make a big deal out of it, but all the ladies came to see her off.

Right after that, there was a meeting with both councils and Andrew, and no one had any good news to share.

According to the information they received, their chances of survival were slim to none once they reached the battle-verse.

-The heaviest ships we have are cruisers; the enemies we will be facing have battleships and dreadnoughts at the very least.

Is there even a chance to defend ourselves?

Runir asked a question that she dreaded hearing an answer to.

-Our chances are slim, but there is still hope.

Andrew responded.

-I know that we would all like to have more time to prepare and maybe even build a few battleships of our own.

But what's the alternative?

He asked.

-Even if we surrendered, we would at best become slaves, and you all know how slaves are treated over there.

Besides, it is not the size of their vessels that we need to worry about.

Our real concern should be what we are going to hit them with.

-And for that, I might have an idea.

Binon chimed in.

-Along with Nairin, we are working on a heavy torpedo that can be used by our fighter drones.

The idea is to swarm the enemy with drones and blind their targeting systems with rockets and bombs, while the torpedo fighters will deliver the killing blow.

We already have a few prototypes and a squadron of fighters reconfigured to carry them.

But the problem is that each fighter can only carry one torpedo at a time.

Additionally, we can add a few of these to a ship with some external attachments, since they are way too big to be used by our standard launchers.

She explained while displaying the weapon on the holoscreen for all to see.

-Will they work? And what's the difference between them and our standard torpedoes?

Arien asked.

She was impressed by the weapon's size, but size was irrelevant if it didn't work.

-They work in simulations, but we didn't have a chance for a live test so far.

Nairin said, showing the recording from the simulations.

Everyone was in awe seeing the data.

-These things are powerful.

Aelita commented.

-What would you need for a live test?

Andrew asked, hoping this weapon would work as they needed any advantage they could get.

-The same thing as always, a power source and shield generators to set up as targets, but our production modules are working at maximum efficiency right now, and we don't want to interrupt the production.

Binon explained.

-I'll get you what you need.

Andrew said and sent a message to Tanera with the list of modules he needed.

-Her response came a moment later.

"Done, they will arrive within an hour."

-Go, prepare for the test.

I want to see the effectiveness of this weapon as soon as possible.
