When they arrive at Sun Village, the Giants welcome them happily because Flare is coming home after a long time. The Giants are very happy to see her return after a few years.
Flare is also happy and she is already used to everything here, so she isn't surprised. But Alex, Ultear, and Meteor are stunned by how gigantic everything here is.
Even though they've been expecting this, they are still not ready to see it with their own eyes. Giants are very rare, after all. They've gone to many places and this is still their first time seeing Giants.
Flare introduces them to the Giants who look happy to know that they are Flare's friends. Until Flare tells them that Alex is here to meet and talk with the Eternal Flame.
The Giants quickly become cautious and seem like they will attack anytime if Alex says anything wrong. Fortunately, the Eternal Flame himself stops them and tells them to let Alex meet him.
"Stop, everyone! Let that human boy come up here. Don't try to attack him. I'm warning you, he can wipe out this entire village in a second and no one here can stop him. So if he has any bad intentions, he wouldn't even ask you and would just use force."
The Eternal Flame can sense Alex's incredible amount of magic power. Alex is suppressing it to avoid disturbing the natural magic power around him, but a Dragon like Atlas Flame, even in an incomplete form can sense if someone is very powerful with his vast experience.
Of course, the Giants are surprised when Atlas said Alex can wipe out this entire village in just a second. They are sceptical, but they don't doubt their Guardian Deity's words, so they back off and open a path for Alex to Eternal Flame's altar.
"Sigh, no need to be that wary. As he said, I'm not here to hurt you. I simply want to chat with the Eternal Flame. You are Flare's family and I am her friend, so as long as you don't try to hurt me or my friends, I won't hurt you. Relax."
Alex sighs and goes up the altar, followed by Ultear, Flare, and Meteor. The Giants are looking intensely at them, curious about what Alex wants to talk about with Eternal Flame.
"Human boy, I believe this is the first time we meet. State your name and reason for wanting to talk with me."
Even though he is in an incomplete form, Atlas Flame is still very big up close. Though he just looks like a normal flaring flame with a face and isn't shaped like a Dragon.
"My name is Alex and yeah, this is the first time we meet, Eternal Flame, or should I say Atlas Flame the Fire Dragon." Alex introduces himself in a simple manner.
"The way you are addressing me, is it alright for me to assume that you want to talk with me as a Dragon, not as the Guardian of this village?" Atlas seems to catch up with Alex's intention from the way Alex calls him.
"You're right, I need to talk with Atlas Flame the Fire Dragon, not Eternal Flame the Guardian of Sun Village."
"I see. So what do you want to talk about, Alex the Human Boy? I don't know if I can give you any answer, but I can at least hear you." Atlas can't just refuse to talk with Alex because as he said, he knows Alex can destroy this entire village, so he can't offend Alex.
"Thanks. I'll just get straight to it So, I want to ask you a few things about Acnologia."
Atlas is really surprised when Alex suddenly mentions Acnologia. He can't even say anything back for a while. But he gets even more surprised by what Alex says next.
"The reason I ask about Acnologia is because I've fought him and will fight him again in the future. I need to defeat him before he destroys the world, but I lack information about him."
"What?! You've fought Acnologia and returned in 1 piece?! Did you fight him seriously? No! Do you have immortality?" Atlas can't even imagine how someone can survive a real fight with Acnologia in one piece without being immortal like Zeref.
"Of course, I fought him seriously. An island was erased from the map because of that fight and I almost died. I am not immortal like Zeref. The reason I could return in one piece was because I had a life-saving skill that really helped me although it took 6 years for the skill to save me."
"... And you still want to fight him even though you were almost killed by him?"
"It's not like I have any other choices. Acnologia will still try to attack me again if he knows that I'm still alive. That bastard just wants to fight anything strong and destroy the world. Even if he doesn't target me specifically, he will still come to destroy my place, killing people I love. Fighting him again is inevitable, so I need to be prepared for it. I need to upgrade my power and skills myself, but I need to gather information from others."
"That's why you come to me, because I am a Dragon who has witnessed the time Acnologia was massacring the Dragons."
"Correct."
"Do you have the confidence to defeat Acnologia?" Atlas asks a difficult question.
"I have a much better chance than most people." Alex doesn't want to be overconfident because his opponent is the strongest in the world.
"You have a lot of confidence in your power, but do you have Dragon Slayer Magic?"
"No, but my magic is unique because it's somehow effective against all races, including Dragons. Do you want to try it?"
Alex transforms his right hand into Matatabi's hand and generates a small amount of flame on his fingertip. Then he slowly pushes his small flame onto Atlas.
"Ouch! Hot!" Atlas feels Alex's fire burns him even though his body is basically made of fire.
Alex quickly removes the fire and returns his hand to normal. It was just a small fire, so Atlas didn't get injured and just felt the heat.
"Your magic really did feel strange. It's different from any magic I've ever seen. But it has a tinge of Dragon's Magic in there." Atlas seems confused.
"Well, I accidentally consumed Dragon Lacrimas and one of them was from a Fire Dragon."
Atlas seems to understand without asking anything else while Ultear seems surprised.
"You consumed Dragon Lacrimas? This is the 1st time I heard about it."
Ultear urges Alex to tell her about it, so he tells them how he took Serena's Dragon Lacrimas when the man died and tried to hide them, but then they got absorbed into his body when he got crystalized.
"I see, so those Dragon Lacrimas evolved your magic, making it even more effective against Dragons. I can tell that your magic is already more effective against Dragons than normal human magic, but not at the level of Dragon Slayer Magic. But now, it becomes as effective as against Dragons like Dragon Slayer Magic. It surely will be a great weapon against Acnologia, especially with your level of power."
Atlas could feel Alex's massive power even more when that small flame touched his body. He is still amazed now that a human can have that much power without losing his mind like Acnologia and a few early Dragon Slayers who got Dragonized.
"I also have my secret weapons that I'll show you so you'll believe that I have a chance to defeat Acnologia."
Alex uses his complete Rinne-Sharingan to pull Atlas's consciousness into his soul realm. In Alex's soul realm, Atlas also returns to his original full Dragon form instead of just a big fire.
Atlas is surprised by the sudden change of place and gets even more surprised by the presence of the 9 Tailed Beasts.
"This is..."
"The place where my soul resides together with my 9 partners."
"A soul realm?! And you have 9 powerful beings inside you?!"
"Yeah, they are the ones lending their abilities to me. So the magic that's effective against Dragons is theirs. I also have my own weapons, but these 9's magic spells are unmatched."
"They are not Dragons, aren't they? I never saw their kind nor did I ever hear about them. Ah, except for what seems to be the 9 Tailed-Fox. I've heard some stories about them from the Eastern Continent."
"Oh? Just me? Well, can't be helped that I'm famous even in different worlds." Kurama smiles smugly while looking at his siblings, making them irritated, especially Shukaku who immediately lashes out.
Alex ignores the siblings' quarrel and continues his talk with Atlas.
"They are beings from another world. We theorized that's the reason their power works on all races here, even Dragons. Because no being here has immunity against their magic."
"I see. That makes sense."
Seeing the 9 Tailed Beasts whose power rivals those of Dragons make Atlas fully convinced that Alex really does have a chance to defeat Acnologia. At the very least, his chance is higher than most humans.
So he agrees to tell Alex all he knows about Acnologia. Though it seems what Atlas knows isn't that different from Alex although it's surely more detailed.
"Hey Atlas, do you remember the Fire Dragon King Igneel?" Alex brings up this topic after hearing what Atlas knows about Acnologia.
"Of course. He was the one who stood above all Fire Dragons back then. I was quite close to him."
"Well, did you know he adopted a human child and taught him Dragon Slayer Magic? That kid is my friend, and I would love it if you could teach him a few things about Fire Dragon magic. Actually, can you teach my Dragon Slayer friends more things about Dragon Slayer Magic? Receiving guidance from a real Dragon should be able to help them a lot."
This is one of Alex's goals for coming here, to let Atlas meet the Dragon Slayers. Atlas is surprised about Igneel's son because he didn't go to the future back then.
But he agrees to meet them because he is also curious about Natsu. Alex hopes that it will help the Dragon Slayers grow.
