"Yay!" Iris clapped her hands with childlike glee before blinking out of the chamber in a flash of light, reappearing mere inches from Yong Feng. Despite barely reaching his waist in height, the force of her presence felt suffocating.
"Does this mean I can finally enter a dungeon?" she asked, tilting her head with an innocent smile. "Pretty please?"
Yong Feng flinched inwardly. He looked down at her, his throat tightening. He tried to keep his voice even.
"Why would you want to enter a dungeon?"
"Why not?" Iris replied casually. "I heard dungeons are scary. Iris wants to experience that. Killing people is boring." Her tone was flat, detached, as if discussing the weather.
Yong Feng's lips parted in shock, but a familiar voice called from behind them before he could speak.
"Iris."
She turned. "Yes, Father?"
"I'll allow you to enter a dungeon," Isakawa said with a small, approving smile as he stepped forward and gently patted her on the head.
