"We should stay over," Ted loudly yawned as he stretched out on the couch then burped.
I felt dread wash over me when mine and Edward's eyes connected across the room. He looked exhausted and I knew how much he just wanted to crawl into bed and get an early night in.
Tomorrow was going to be rough with the team and I wanted us to have a moment together before we faced the world. I would need the strength of an elephant to fight off the team's remarks. It was just going to be exhausting.
I thought Ted and Henry were here for just a few beers but nope. Ended up being a whole conversation and even though I enjoyed their company I really wanted to be alone with Edward. They always slept over when we had one too many but not today.
"I didn't recall inviting you over," I chuckled trying to make light of the situation even though I felt desperate.
"That's what mates are for," Henry chuckled. "We show up and have fun."
