The alarm rang, interrupting the peacefulness of the quiet room. The signal only rang twice, though, before a large hand reached out to scoop the phone and slide the screen, effectively silencing it. Damien lifted it up, glancing at the time, and let out a soft sigh, putting it back on the nightstand.
Then, he glanced down at his body. Or, to be precise, on another body that was lying on top of his body. Lane was still clinging to him, absolutely undisturbed, using his chest as a pillow, his pink hair all messy, parts of it sticking together in strands.
It was an adorable view, even though Damien would never say it out loud. For obvious reasons - 'adorable' was not a type of compliment that Lane would appreciate.
Lane stirred, snuggling even closer to Damien, one of his legs thrown over Damien's, but he didn't open his eyes. Did he not hear the alarm? That was unlikely. He probably was just pretending to still be asleep.
