Georgie POV

Yeah, of course this was going to happen.

I couldn't move. My whole body felt stiff—numb fingers, locked shoulders.

My hair was a mess, strands sticking to my face, and my chest felt heavy like someone had dropped a sandbag on it.

I heard slow, steady breathing right by my ear. Great.

I blinked against the morning light, trying to make sense of what the hell just happened.

My whole body was cramping.

I turned my eyes down... and there she was.

Missy.

Passed out on top of me like a baby koala, snoring with her hair all over my face. One of her arms had smacked my chin, and her legs were half-off the bed, dangling like she'd fainted mid-climb.

I slowly turned to my left, and there was Veronica. Her head rested on my left arm—no wonder it felt like a thousand pins stabbing through it. She was curled up beside me, breathing softly against my neck.

Her hand was wrapped around my neck like I owed her money in a past life, and her legs—

...Her leg was wrapped around my thigh.

My upper thigh.

I could feel her.

Don't panic. Don't panic. DON'T PANIC.

If Missy moved even an inch downward, she'd definitely feel something, and it would be the end of my life as I know it.

I glanced right, Sheldon was sound asleep, bundled in his blanket like a damn caterpillar.

And guess what?

My other arm was his pillow.

But just when desperation started to wrap itself around my heart and mind, salvation arrived…

In the form of God's hand—or maybe just my mom's.

"Aww… look at them," Mary whispered softly from right above my head.

We were all still in the living room.

Why?

Well, turns out the story I told them last night about the Okiku doll worked a little too well. It kept everyone's eyes wide open until late.

Missy, who had proudly claimed she wasn't scared and was actually excited for horror stories, hadn't dared to take the doll I left on the table.

Especially after Veronica and Dad bolted into the house screaming when I act out at the ending.

Mary followed them in too, once she realized only Sheldon and herself were still outside.

So yeah…

Now they've all occupied my room, stayed up watching TV with me, and only went back to their own rooms to grab blankets.

I looked up at Mary with an awkward smile on my face.

"Mom… help…" I whispered.

"What? It's your fault that—oh…"

Mary was about to snort and give me one of her classic "learn your lesson" lectures, but then her eyes caught something under the blanket near my lower half.

"...That's not the TV remote, is it?" she asked, giving me a very awkward side-eye.

"...No."

I sighed. We're both adults. She knows what happens sometimes in the morning. I mean, I am a man, after all.

"Could you maybe take Missy off me? I… can't really move my arm right now…" I added quietly.

Mary nodded quickly, without another word, and gently lifted Missy off my trapped arm.

It was still early—the sun hadn't even decided to fully show itself yet—but somehow, the Cooper family living room had already become the scene of something strange and mildly embarrassing.

3rd Person POV

It was a quiet morning.

Once the situation had calmed down and everyone was up and about, Mary and Veronica moved around the kitchen preparing breakfast at a relaxed pace.

Normally, Mary did this all by herself—cooking breakfast for the entire Cooper family usually had her rushing around like crazy.

Especially today, since it was her first official day working at the church.

Sheldon, Georgie, and George Sr. were still outside.

Since they'd stayed up late the night before and overslept this morning, they could only squeeze in a light workout or a short morning walk.

The whole point was to maintain some kind of routine—mainly for George Sr., of course.

Georgie had already made morning exercise part of his daily discipline, and Sheldon, surprisingly, had recently added it to his meticulously crafted schedule as well.

Speaking of Sheldon…

He woke up with an annoyed look on his face, clearly irritated that his sacred schedule had been ruined by what he called 'a ridiculous cursed doll.'

Still, he had stayed up late with everyone else—claiming he didn't want to miss any "significant group bonding moments,"

even though everything about their behavior was, in his words, "completely outside the realm of logic."

Sleeping on the living room floor? With germs? Like some kind of… hippie commune?

Missy had already told him to just go back to his room and sleep with her dolls, He didn't reply.

He simply dragged his blanket into the living room and joined the others—just like a hippie.

Missy was already at the dining table—surprisingly quiet.

That alone made Mary suspicious. She glanced at Veronica with concern.

"What's wrong, Missy?" Veronica finally asked, stepping closer.

"Hmm, nothing. I was just thinking… how much could I get if I sold all my dolls?"

Missy answered casually, then paused as another idea hit her.

"What if I sold all my dolls except for one—and then my soul could go into that doll, like Okiku? Would that make me living forever?"

"…"

Veronica froze.

Then she quietly turned and walked back to Mary.

"I'm sorry. I can't do this."

She said softly, her face ghost-pale.

Mary sighed and handed her the spatula. Then she walked over to Miss before she asked gently, "Why would you even think that?".

Missy just shrugged and took another bite of her bacon.

Just then, the front door opened, and footsteps echoed into the kitchen.

"I don't want to ruin my schedule, brother!" Sheldon's voice rang out. "I have specifically allocated this time slot for physical improvement and cardiovascular endurance! I must stay on track!"

Georgie, dripping in sweat, ruffled Sheldon's hair with a grin, "Don't worry about it. At least you're having fun, right?"

"Yes."

Sheldon gave a short answer and marched straight to the bathroom, leaving Georgie and the others staring in disbelief.

Sheldon Lee Cooper. The boy who hates germs. Now enjoys exercise.

Yeah…

If they hadn't heard it from his own mouth,

they might've believed the end of the world was coming instead.

Georgie shook his head and looked at the others, "So… what's going on again?" he asked, letting out a tired sigh.

George Sr., right behind him, breathing heavily, walked past and reached for a glass of water, "...I think we're skipping exercise today."

"No days off, Dad. It's for your own health," Georgie replied as he grabbed a drink of his own and sat down across from Missy, "Why the long face?"

"Hmm… I was just thinking… if I sell all my dolls, will I become a grown woman?"

Missy said casually, still chewing her eggs.

"What?" Georgie raised an eyebrow, "You don't have to do that. Just be a little girl as long as you want."

"Why?" This time it was Missy's turn to ask with a puzzled look.

Mary and Veronica, who had been listening nearby, snorted softly, because that wasn't what Missy had asked earlier.

Still, they didn't interrupt, just kept listening to the sibling exchange.

"What do you mean, why?" Georgie frowned, "Dad wants you to stay his little girl too, right Dad?". He turned toward George Sr., who was drinking water like he'd just crawled out of a desert.

"Pffuhh… Yes. You don't need to rush into growing up. I just want you all to be happy," George Sr. said, setting the glass down.

He hesitated for a second, then added with a hint of nervousness, "...This isn't about that story last night, is it?", Okay—maybe not nervous. Maybe straight-up scared.

Missy shook her head slowly, then turned to Georgie with a strangely excited look on her face.

"What would you do… if you could live forever?"

Georgie blinked.

"That's a really weird question, Missy…" he replied with an awkward chuckle.

"But okay, I'll answer it. I wouldn't want to live forever. That's a curse, not a gift."

Missy tilted her head, clearly not understanding what he meant.

She glanced around the room.

Everyone else was already listening in. They all nodded in quiet agreement, especially Mary, who raised an eyebrow at the whole question.

"Sheldon!" Missy suddenly called out.

Footsteps echoed down the hall.

"Stop yelling! I already sacrificed my schedule for this chaos," Sheldon barked back. "And now you're making me angrier-…Brother, stop right there!"

Sheldon marched into the room, glaring at Georgie, who was grinning mischievously like he had just been caught mid-crime.

Georgie dropped the grin and leaned back in his seat, feigning innocence.

"What would you do if you could live forever?" Missy asked again, eyes wide.

Sheldon sighed. He'd been asked a lot of ridiculous things by his sister over the years, and normally, he'd snap back with a textbook answer.

But this time… he paused.

He actually thought about it.

"If you want to live forever inside a doll," he said slowly, "then you're dumber than I thought. Why would you want to be a decorative object, just sitting on a shelf while people stare at you?"

Missy frowned hearing that but didn't interrupt.

"But… to answer your question seriously," Sheldon continued, "I'd try to live as long as possible, by maintaining strict germ awareness and avoiding anything that might kill me prematurely. Because frankly, it would be a significant loss to the scientific community if I were to die young."

He paused. Then shrugged.

"But no, I don't want to live forever either." He walked past her toward the kitchen and take a water before answered again, "Immortality is inefficient. Eventually, even the universe ends. So what's the point?"

Missy blinked, "But the doll doesn't care about the universe."

Georgie leaned toward her, smirking, "That's exactly the problem, Miss. You wanna feel alive. Not just exist."

Mary poured herself some coffee, muttering, "Great. Existential crises before 8 AM."

George Sr. caught her words and let out a groan. "Alright, that's it. No more horror stories in this house for the next five years! Georgie, go clean yourself up."

Georgie merely shrugged, unfazed. As he stood, he leaned over and kissed Missy on the forehead with casual affection. Then, turning to Sheldon with exaggerated puppy-dog eyes, he asked, "...I believe you don't want a kiss too?"

Sheldon, deadpan as ever, replied, "No."

Georgie clicked his tongue and walked away, muttering something about how "....some geniuses just don't understand love…."

Veronica chuckled, and Mary shook her head in exasperation. These mornings were chaotic, but somehow they were starting to feel normal again. As she laid out plates of breakfast in front of everyone, she turned serious.

"Alright, I already gave you all the instructions, but I'm going to say them again, just in case."

She began listing off reminders, her eyes darting especially toward Missy, who was eyeing the fire extinguisher like it was a new toy. Mary followed her gaze and sighed. This was going to be a long day.

She then turned to Veronica with a gentle frown. "Are you sure you're okay with this? Watching over these two while I'm at church, it's not exactly a relaxing task."

Veronica glanced at Sheldon and Missy, then back at Mary with a calm smile. "I think I can handle it."

Mary nodded, still hesitant, but George Sr. chimed in to help ease her worries. "If anything happens, just call us. The phone number's written next to the kitchen phone."

Veronica gave another nod, more determined this time. "So… what are we doing today?" she asked, directing the question toward Sheldon. "Watching Star Trek? I've actually never seen it."

Sheldon turned slowly, squinting as though Veronica had committed an unforgivable crime. "If you truly want to be my future sister-in-law, then you must understand my interests. Star Trek is not optional."

George Sr. nearly choked on his drinks, "That's the most ridiculous thing I've heard this morning," he grunted.

Missy, clearly inspired by the dramatic energy in the room, tilted her head and added with mock innocence, "Well as for me, I want you to teach me how to seduce-."

"Nope!" Mary cut her off sharply, not even waiting for the rest of the sentence. "Absolutely not. Don't even finish that thought."

Missy slumped back with a cheeky grin on her face.
