[Chapter Size: 2000 Words.]
Third Person POV
Northern Mountains.
...
...
Night filled the Northern Mountains like a black veil, while everything seemed calm from a distance, with dozens of peaks forming part of the mountain range, with only a cold breeze caused by the region's low temperatures.
Everything seemed normal.
But then, a glowing light stood out in the darkness between the mountains in a small spot seen from afar, however, they were dragon flames.
The flames burned through the air as the dragon spewed them with fury, trying to catch the small "fly" flying ahead of it.
At the same time, a cry from the griffin, not at all happy with the situation, echoed through the night.
He narrowly escaped the flames, lowering his altitude and letting them pass over him, and his dissatisfaction was with the situation his master had put him in—after all, he would be dead as soon as he was caught by the flames.
The animal didn't seem the least bit pleased with the situation, while Madara, mounted on it, analyzed the situation they were in at that moment.
There were four dragons following them.
Madara had entered the Northern Mountains, spotted by those dragons hunting him as soon as he left the valley.
He immediately summoned the griffin with a summoning jutsu and quickly shot through the air, initiating an aerial chase by the dragons through the mountains behind the invading human.
"Let's go that way, Totó," Madara said, pointing toward a group of mountains closer together, with rocky outcrops.
One of the dragons began to advance from above, trying to catch them from that direction.
It began to dive diagonally toward them, ready to take advantage of the momentum gravity gave to speed up even more and devour the griffin in one bite.
Madara saw this and began to make hand seals before inflating his cheeks.
"Scorch Style: Burning Mist Jutsu."
He began to generate a large trail of dust through the air with small embers, which quickly spread throughout the area.
The Scorch Style was a style he had developed in the past year.
The dragon was caught by surprise as a huge smoke cloud began to form in that area, with immediate stinging.
It was taken off guard and quickly closed its eyes upon feeling the pain.
"I'm blind! Don't look into that glowing dust!" exclaimed the dragon, entering a dark trail, unable to see anything.
Even the other two dragons following him ended up having to pass through the mist, being forced to close their eyes at the same time upon hearing the first dragon being affected.
The last dragon managed to escape by going around the mist from one side, seeing that his companions had been affected.
"Damn human! We should get out of here first!" some of them murmured, as they tried to escape the trap Madara had created.
The one flying diagonally tried to ascend, but was a bit lost.
He came out of the dust stunned, unable to open his eyes, with the stinging still affecting him.
Slowly, he tried to glide without seeing anything, until the snow-covered dry branches of the trees began to hit his wings.
Staggering, he began to crash against the side of the mountain, smashing some rocks with his own body before letting out a roar of pain and beginning to fall.
"Be careful with your eyes and the area!" the dragon outside the ash cloud exclaimed to the others, seeing the situation of the first one.
They all exited that gray environment and opened their eyes cautiously, having protected them by closing them in time.
"Damn it, we'll help him later. First we need to catch that human!" one of the remaining ones said, seeing that the fallen dragon might really be hurt and would remain on the ground for quite some time.
There were still three dragons pursuing Madara, but he quickly began weaving through the mountains in a zigzag, maintaining a favorable distance from them after the last Jutsu, while the dragons flapped their wings harder to reach him quickly.
Madara began to follow a path between the mountains as he searched for the best way to escape, while Totó continued to follow his master's commands.
And when the dragons rounded a bend, believing the human and the griffin were just ahead—thinking they couldn't have flown away—they realized both had vanished at that curve, seeing only the mountain range.
There was no longer any sign of the griffin they had been chasing.
"Damn it, he got away!" one of them exclaimed, furious.
They quickly tried searching both the sky and the forests between the mountains, sniffing the air, but there was no sign of the human or the animal.
"Let's split up," they said, spotting some paths they might have taken.
"I'll go this way," said one of the dragons, since if they tried to ascend higher to locate him, he would probably already be too far to be spotted from the sky.
The dragons quickly chose different paths and moved forward, not knowing where Madara could have gone.
They were more or less to the north, right in the middle of the continent.
The human could head in any direction to escape, and finding him would be very difficult.
They needed to catch him before he left the mountains.
Because if Madara reached the human world, it would be nearly impossible for them to actually catch him.
For now, they continued the pursuit, passing through mountains and crossroads, between forests and peaks, but none of them could identify the griffin anymore.
It didn't matter that the dragons were faster than that small flying animal—there was no longer any trace of it.
One of the dragons, still focused on his search, was flying low looking for the human, unaware of the shadow that the light of the newly-risen moon cast across his back.
As the beating of wings echoed, someone lunged through the air, falling directly onto the dragon.
"What is that?!" the dragon quickly felt something hit him and turned his neck to see what it was, but couldn't see anything on his back.
Until he felt two feet land in front of his eyes.
"Hello, little dragon," Madara said in a dry tone, while the dragon became completely disoriented by it.
"You're here?!" he muttered, ready to try to shake off the human, but as Madara's gaze intensified, the dragon's eyes quickly transformed into the triple pattern of the Sharingan.
"It would be bad to take you south, so just sleep," Madara said.
In the next moment, the dragon—who was relatively weak among his kind despite his 25-meter size—began to fall into a deep sleep, closing his eyes.
Madara let him lose altitude, descending directly downward.
He quickly jumped from the dragon and began making several hand seals before bursting in midair with the summoning jutsu.
With the burst of smoke, Totó appeared shortly afterward, catching Madara in the air and moving forward, flying directly south, leaving the dragon to crash into the trees below.
The impact was violent, smashing everything in the way, eliminating the last dragon that had been closest to him.
Now, there was nothing left there that could stop him from escaping.
And so, hours later, Madara finally left the Northern Mountains.
He stopped to rest, since Totó was quite tired after flying so much, and even though he had returned Totó earlier that morning after playing with that green dragon, the griffin still hadn't fully rested after Madara retrieved him upon landing on the dragon that took him to the dragon capital.
After that, he returned flying across the Northern Realms, arriving at Kaer Morhen in the early morning.
His wings approaching the castle quickly drew attention, as Ciri was already heading out to train and the witchers were also busy with their tasks, while Triss and Yennefer tended to young Isabela.
Even the sorceresses looked out the window upon hearing the griffin's cry, as everyone watched Madara land with Totó in the middle of one of the courtyards, with the griffin practically complaining to his master about their latest adventure—after all, he could've easily been killed by dragons.
"Madara!" Ciri shouted, running up to him.
"Where have you been all day? You always say where you're going, but this time you disappeared for a whole day!" she asked, demanding an explanation.
"I was checking out the Northern Mountains. I ended up finding some interesting things there," Madara said calmly.
"Northern Mountains?" Vesemir's voice followed after hearing that part of the conversation, as he approached.
"Tell me... What could you have seen there? Dragons?" he said ironically.
"Exactly. I came across the Land of Dragons. They weren't very friendly and tried to chase me as soon as they saw me there," Madara replied calmly, making Vesemir raise an eyebrow, processing the information in stunned silence.
"Really... You went to the Land of Dragons? Tell me exactly what you saw there. No, show me, please!" Ciri practically begged Madara.
"By the gods... Why do I still get surprised by this?" Vesemir muttered, placing a hand on his forehead before looking at Madara and speaking directly.
"Just don't tell me the dragons are coming here. That's exactly what I don't want. The castle is finally repaired... I don't want it melted down by dragon fire. They're creatures we have no chance of surviving against," Vesemir said immediately in a serious tone, hoping Madara hadn't brought that deadly trouble to them.
"You don't need to worry so much. Let me show you something," Madara said, looking at Vesemir as his eyes immediately turned red, placing the old witcher under genjutsu.
Quickly, he began transmitting the information about everything that had happened, leaving out a few details.
Still, it was a shocking reality.
Madara showed his memories of how he dealt with the dragons.
Vesemir was a witcher, not someone with Madara's abilities.
Seeing all of it was unbelievable—even with the clear images in his mind—Madara facing dragons, entering their land, dealing with the creatures, and more surprisingly, meeting an ancient dragon.
They had, in that place, a society completely out of human contact.
They were extremely proud and powerful.
He even showed the escape, once he was no longer being followed, just before leaving the Northern Mountains, no longer pursued for the rest of the night until finally reaching Kaer Morhen.
Vesemir furrowed his brow as he returned to consciousness.
"He did that to you again, Vesemir?" Geralt asked, approaching with a cautious look.
Madara had already used his eyes to transmit some things—it was a skill he had recently created.
"Yes, the damn fool showed me things... Geralt... dragons, while they were trying to kill him. Even if it was just a memory, it was terrifying, and I never want to see a dragon in my life," Vesemir muttered, unable to process everything he had seen.
"I want to see too!" Ciri exclaimed, looking at Madara and stomping her feet in front of him.
"I asked first! You should've shown me! Come on, show me too!" she demanded, while Madara looked at her with the Sharingan activated, placing her under the same genjutsu and displaying all the images.
But when it ended, instead of reacting with caution and worry like Vesemir, Ciri did the exact opposite.
"That was so cool!" she shouted excitedly.
"I want to see dragons too! That was amazing! You really kicked some butt! You should've taken me with you!"
Ciri bounced with energy like a girl begging for a new toy.
In any case, Madara left the excited Ciri aside and turned his eyes directly toward the woman approaching from the direction of the castle.
It was Yennefer, who stared at him while he nodded, indicating that he needed to have a conversation with her at that moment, before they left Kaer Morhen soon.
