Chapter 348 - Chapter 348: The Rumor Became True?

"You could beg for your life on your knees right now, and I still wouldn't let you go."

A chorus of footsteps pounded through the undergrowth as Kuhn smirked at Ron , his tone dripping with malice.

As if to prove Kuhn's words true, a squad burst from the forest and quickly encircled Ron. At their head was Pym, who wasted no time summoning his Elite Four-tier Seviper, its cold, predatory eyes locking onto Ron.

Given the numbers and strength they brought, Kuhn was confident—Ron would soon fall to his knees and beg for mercy.

"Finally," Ron muttered, shedding his black cloak. "Luring you all here took more effort than I'd like to admit."

As he stripped away his disguise, a Ditto beside him returned to its formless state. Ron stretched languidly before tossing out several Poké Balls, unleashing his battle team.

A pitch-black Netherworld dome flared into existence, cloaking the entire battlefield and sealing off all communication to the outside.

"Let me return your words—verbatim," Ron said coolly.

"Machamp, Daytime Tiger! Take them out fast!"

"Bellossom, handle that Seviper."

"Gardevoir, bring Kuhn to me. Alive."

"Gengar, Ghost Chains with Night Parade of a Hundred Demons. Coordinate with Machamp—eliminate them."

"Nidoking, Thunderfire Mode—Lightning Fire: False Darkness x3!"

Each command shot from Ron's mouth in rapid succession. From Pokémon release to full assault took only seconds—but in those seconds, the tide of battle flipped completely.

From the start, Gardevoir had been scanning the area, detecting Pym and his crew. And once Kuhn had shown up? Ron had confirmed it—they were baiting him.

So he took the bait… and now, he was devouring the fishermen.

After all, not just anyone can reel in a deep-sea Mega Gyarados.

"Wait… you're Ron?!" Pym gasped, recognizing the signature power of Machamp's devastating attack.

That's exactly why Ron had come in disguise. He waited for the full ambush squad to arrive, then ordered Gengar to cast Netherworld, ensuring not a single signal escaped.

If word of his presence had leaked out, who knows what chaos might have followed?

A gleam of green sword-light sliced through the air—Bellossom had somehow flanked Seviper. A thin red line appeared along Seviper's side… then widened, deepened, and turned into a gaping, bleeding wound.

The pain, the blood loss, the draining weakness—it overwhelmed the snake. It collapsed to the ground, powerless.

Bellossom didn't even glance at it. She launched straight toward Pym.

He froze. Clearly, he hadn't expected his Elite-level Seviper to fall so quickly. By the time he fumbled to release more Pokémon—

Too late.

Another flash of green light—and Pym fell, his headless body crashing to the earth.

Without a high-tier anchor like Pym, Machamp and Gengar's combo turned into pure massacre. Within moments, more than half the attackers were dead.

From Nidoking's horns, three red-yellow beams—the False Darkness Trio—blasted forward. They tore through everything in their path, including Kuhn's Dodrio, skewering it before it could react.

With Dodrio gone, Gardevoir easily subdued Kuhn and teleported him in front of Ron.

The man stared blankly, eyes wide with disbelief—completely shattered by the reversal of fate.

After the final foe was struck down, Ron gave the order. Gengar dispelled the Netherworld, and Machamp began cleaning up the battlefield.

Kuhn, coming back to his senses, tried to plead for his life.

But Ron didn't give him the chance. He drove a dagger straight through Kuhn's heart.

Flames erupted around them, incinerating all traces of the poachers' presence.

After dealing with Pym's poaching syndicate, a new plan began to take shape in Ron's mind.

Once Ron had confiscated Pym's phone and that of his subordinates, he quietly started putting his next move into motion.

Two days later, a rumor began to circulate among Pokémon Hunters—one that spoke of a rare Dragon-type Pokémon.

Confident in their strength, several poachers and hunters investigated the rumor's credibility and decided it was worth exploring.

As they began moving in, the one who started the whole thing—Ron—remained hidden near the canyon, patiently waiting.

Whenever the right prey drew near, Gardevoir would teleport Ron in instantly, and he would swiftly eliminate the target.

Thanks to the bounty system and the spread of the rumor, Ron's resource accumulation rate shot up once again.

For the sake of Gardevoir and the others, Ron didn't stop. On the contrary—he stirred the pot further, creating even more disturbances to attract more people to the area.

Meanwhile, nestled within the cave, Dwight took on the role of a devoted partner. Using the culinary skills he'd learned from Ron, he prepared meals and washed clothes, waiting for Ron's return. It gave Ron a strange but comforting feeling—like having a home.

Yet, every time he looked at Dwight's delicate features, both Ron and his Machamp couldn't help but feel something was… off.

"Pack up, Dwight. In two days, we're moving out."

"Got it."

Hearing Ron's order, Dwight nodded and began gathering the supplies scattered around the cave.

Before long, another target approached. With a quick reminder to Dwight, Ron had Gardevoir use Teleport to whisk him away.

...

"Machamp, Armament Technique: Meteor Fist Barrage!"

Ron's voice echoed as Machamp activated its Gear 2 and vanished from view.

A wave of scorching heat swept through the area. The target didn't even get a glimpse of Machamp's face before being taken out. His Pokémon were swiftly dealt with as well.

At this point, Machamp was nearing Mid Elite Four-level strength. Pokémon at the quasi-Elite Four tier didn't stand a chance—none could last even a single round.

Just as Ron began to clear the battlefield, a sound broke the silence.

It was faint, but unmistakable—a dragon's roar.

"No way… I just made that rumor up. Could there actually be a Dragon-type Pokémon nesting nearby?"

"Wait, does this count as 'words made reality'?"

Without a second thought, Ron geared up to investigate.

He donned his black cloak, woke Ditto for support, and set out.

Minutes later, the dragon's roar grew louder—more distinct. Clashes and battle noises echoed intermittently through the canyon.

Ron had Gardevoir halt Teleport. From here, he continued on foot.

With both Gardevoir and Lucario scanning the surroundings, Ron was confident—no one could sneak up on him undetected.

A thunderous roar ripped through the air, followed by a blast of searing Dragon Breath mixed with flames. The attack decimated a surrounding Pokémon with ease.

Salamence, radiating the might of a Mid Elite Four, unleashed its Intimidate, sending shockwaves through the canyon.

Its eyes locked onto the next target.

Its wings flared—and in a flash, Salamence soared into the air.

Using Dragon Rush in tandem with Steel Wing, it dived.

The resulting impact exploded outward with devastating force.

Dazzling light and violent tremors tore through the area. The hunters who'd once eyed Salamence greedily now fled in terror.

But no amount of running could outrun the energy's reach.

In seconds, they were engulfed.

When the smoke and heat finally faded, only Salamence remained standing—no human or Pokémon had survived the onslaught.
