Since they were the only ones who could produce those tires, they'd be inundated with requests from all sides.
And with their Automobile Factory destroyed, they wouldn't be able to fulfill those requests, leading to a lot of frustration and resentment from the general public.
That would hamper their progress greatly.
And the Tri-Star company didn't end it there. They used this chance to completely change the narrative about their mounts.
The next day, their plan went into effect.
