Just as everyone outside continued to marvel at Max's unbelievable speed of ascension within the Combat Tower, the space on the ninetieth floor finally began to stir. The arena trembled slightly as energy gathered at the center, and a new figure slowly formed out of the swirling light of the tower's power.
When the light faded, a tall warrior stood there holding a long spear. His presence carried a deep and oppressive pressure that was far greater than the opponents Max had faced on the floors below.
The warrior's eyes fell upon Max and a trace of confusion appeared on his face. His gaze swept across Max's body as if trying to understand what he was seeing.
"How did someone like you with the strength of the third level of the Rebirth Realm come this far into the floors of the nineties?" the warrior asked with clear disbelief in his voice.
