Max stepped through the swirling mist and into the Void Hall. The interior of the Void Hall wasn't some single cavernous chamber, nor was it a plain vault lined with treasures and relics as he might have expected.
Instead, it was an endless labyrinth of shimmering corridors, their walls constructed from gleaming, translucent crystal that reflected soft waves of blue and silver light. Countless doors and passageways branched off in all directions, each one marked with luminous glyphs, like veins of starlight etched into the surfaces, and faint currents of spiritual power drifted through the air, humming like distant celestial music.
People moved silently through these corridors, their footsteps muffled as though the very air was enchanted. Max could see them vanishing into doorways that seemed to ripple like water as they passed through.
