Cass thought he would last longer than he did. He thought he would be able to get a chapter in, maybe two before the bone-deep tiredness took him out.
He didn't even last that long.
Once out of the bath and patted and dried down by the kindest set of hands he'd ever experienced, Cass was moisturized, every last inch of him, his hair was dried by the next best thing to a hair dryer, a fire dragon with deep affection for him. He was dressed in the softest pajamas, and tucked into bed between a furnace and the body heat of a regular human.
Cass never stood a chance.
He was blinking, fighting sleep as Edgar dressed him for bed. Both Edgar and Lucian were chuckling to themselves, gentle with the man as they tucked into the soft bed, wrapped themselves around him and Cass succumbed to their warmth and care.
