Chapter 178 - Chapter 138. Grudge up the past

After a battle that nearly plunged civilization into an ice age, the family decided to cool off — in a far more peaceful way. Their destination? The Waterfall Resto, in Kota Depok, Indonesia.

It was a semi-outdoor paradise: a lush garden restaurant where an artificial waterfall spilled down moss-covered stone walls into a glimmering pond. The air smelled of earth, lemongrass, and freshly grilled seafood. Sunlight filtered through palm leaves while cicadas hummed lazily in the heat.

This wasn't just dining — it was an experience.

A monster-fish lake shimmered nearby for guests who fancied a challenge. A cozy mini-zoo full of turtles, rabbits, and bright parrots charmed visitors, while a vertical garden climbed up one wall like an emerald curtain. From the open kitchen came the clang of woks and laughter of chefs — the music of comfort itself.

Not everyone from the Satria household could make it, but today's group included Satria, Velzard, Rimuru, Raphael, Fatalis, Noa, Kurumi, and Morgan.

And, naturally, Satria was doing something suspicious.

He stood at the mini-zoo fence, gazing intently into the turtle pond. "I see… you're lonely," he murmured solemnly. "Don't worry, I will—"

"—What are you doing, dear?" Rimuru's voice cut through the air like divine judgment.

Satria froze mid-gesture, one hand extended like a stage magician caught mid-spell. "Uh… setting it free?"

Rimuru n narrowed her eyes. "You were about to use your powers to break open a turtle cage in a public restaurant?"

He scratched his cheek, looking guilty. "But… look at him! He's lonely. His name's Andy."

"You named him?!"

"He told me!"

Rimuru sighed, palm meeting forehead. "No, bad boy. Andy is not yours. You already have dragons, mystical beasts, goddesses, and me. You still want more?"

Satria's eyes shimmered dramatically. "But… friendship transcends species…" Then he clenched his fist, resolute. "Fine. I'll buy him and set him free!"

An anxious employee clutching a clipboard shuffled closer. "U-uhm, sir… none of the animals here are for sale."

Satria turned toward him with tragic dignity. "So you're saying… his freedom has no price…"

The poor girl blinked twice, visibly regretting every life choice that led her here.

Rimuru bowed apologetically. "Please ignore him. He's harmless just emotionally attached to nonsense." She grabbed Satria by the arm and tugged him away. "Come on, before you start negotiating with parrots."

As they walked, she muttered, "You're a walking embarrassment sometimes."

"How can you blame me?" Satria pouted. "I just wanted to help a friend."

"Yes. A turtle you met five minutes ago," she deadpanned. "Next time, try making normal friends."

Back at the table, the rest were already chatting.

The table overflowed with color — nasi cobek udang, nasi ayam bakar, creamy carbonara, wood-fired pizza, and perfectly seared steak. The air was rich with sambal, butter, and herbs, weaving together.

Morgan swirled her iced drink lazily. "You two finally done with your turtle-rescue operation?"

Kurumi smirked. "Hey, don't bully my husband. He just has a big heart… and a small brain."

Noa chuckled. "Fitting combination, really."

Velzard crossed her arms. "At least it's peaceful here. Last time we had breakfast, someone froze everything solid."

Raphael arched an eyebrow. "That was you."

"…Fair," Velzard admitted, sipping her tea.

Laughter rippled around the table. A waiter arrived again with a tray of drinks — tall glasses of tropical tea, iced lemon tea, and cold coffee beading with condensation.

Satria's eyes sparkled. "Ooh! I ordered iced lemon tea!"

Rimuru sighed affectionately. "It's like raising a child instead of a husband."

Raphael reached over and patted Satria's head, smiling faintly — a rare gesture from her. "As long as husband is happy, I am happy."

Rimuru groaned, though she couldn't hide a small smile. "You're incorrigible."

Satria grinned, sipping his tea with exaggerated bliss. "Ahh… peace, good food, and family. Maybe the world can survive me after all."

As laughter filled the waterfall restaurant, with a faint golden shimmer, four new figures materialized near the entrance.

Naruto Uzumaki, dressed casually with his trademark grin.

Artoria Pendragon, as regal as a king despite the tropical setting.

Gudako, bright-eyed and brimming with energy.

And Koneko, who gave a polite wave before immediately spotting Satria.

Naruto grinned wide. "Heh, it's been a while, brat."

Satria turned, smirking. "Yo, Dobe. Thanks for taking care of my Koneko while she was in your hands."

Naruto chuckled, shaking his head. "You really haven't changed. Still cheeky."

Gudako gasped, her eyes sparkling. "No way! Morgan le Fay?! And— Satria-kun! We meet again!"

Satria blinked. "Oh great… you're here too, Gacha Girl? That means you already found out about the Dimensional Chat, huh?"

Gudako nodded proudly. "Yup! Artoria invited me after telling me about this whole multiverse thing!"

Before Satria could respond, a sharp, elegant voice cut through the air.

Artoria's eyes were fixed on her sister. "So… it's true. You're here, Morgan. What kind of mischief are you up to this time? And what's your relationship with them?"

Morgan's smile was smooth as glass and twice as sharp. "Oh, Artoria. Do you ever greet family without a jab? Or is arrogance just hereditary?" Her gaze slid toward Naruto. "And that blonde beside you—one of your new underlings?"

Artoria's jaw tightened. But before the tension could snap, Naruto raised both hands nervously. "Uh… can we not start a family feud in the middle of a restaurant? People are staring, ya know."

Satria clapped his hands dramatically. "No, no, this is great! Premium drama channel right here—!"

Bonk. Rimuru smacked the back of his head. "Dear. Behave."

Satria rubbed his head, pouting. "Fine… buzzkill."

He snapped his fingers subtly. The world shimmered, sound and motion freezing for all but those at their table. A faint bubble of golden energy enclosed them, giving privacy amid the murmuring crowd.

Artoria drew a deep breath, straightening her posture. "To answer your question, Morgan… no. He's not my underling." She reached for Naruto's hand, voice soft but steady. "He's the man I chose — the one I swore to stand beside through every storm."

Morgan blinked once, her expression flickering between surprise and disdain. "You? Fall in love? The King of Britannia… with him?" She tilted her head at Naruto. "What makes this man so special?"

Artoria's eyes softened but held steel beneath. "Something you wouldn't understand, sister. He's reckless, loud, impossibly kind… and carries the will to protect everyone, even when the world turns against him."

Naruto scratched his cheek awkwardly. "Eheh… Artoria, you're makin' me blush."

Morgan folded her arms. "In short, you married a sentimental idiot and I'm already married, so I know the meaning."

Artoria's tone sharpened. "And you married what, exactly?"

Morgan turned, smirking toward Satria, who was quietly sipping his iced lemon tea. "That. A man of terrifying power, impossible confidence, and an infuriating sense of humor. My husband doesn't follow fate — he rewrites it."

Artoria blinked. "You can't be serious. This weird kid?" She gestured at Satria, who pretended to choke on his drink. "Your taste is as questionable as your morals."

"Hey!" Satria protested. "That's slander! Rimuru, tell her she's wrong!"

Rimuru sighed. "You make it so hard to defend you, dear. Just… stop talking."

Gudako leaned toward Koneko, whispering, "This feels like watching a romantic crossover sitcom."

Koneko nodded deadpan. "Season two's getting wild."

Artoria's tone turned sharp but calm. "Power and arrogance don't make a man great, Morgan. True strength lies in compassion and—"

"—results," Morgan cut in smoothly. "You can keep chasing ideals, sister, but while your man tries to understand the world, mine reshapes it."

Rimuru raised a raised a hand nervously. "Uh, can we not start a war in a family restaurant? I really like the vibe here."

Noa sipped her drink. "Should I prepare popcorn or an evacuation portal?"

Fatalis chuckled. "Both."

Finally, Morgan turned to Artoria one last time, tone softer but still proud. "Admit it, sister — your man may be noble, but mine makes destiny itself kneel."

Artoria met her glare evenly. "And yet, I would not trade mine for all the thrones of Heaven."

The silence that followed wasn't hostile — it was mutual respect between two monarchs who had finally found peace in different paths.

Then, of course, Satria broke it.

"So… does that make me your brother-in-law now?"

Naruto nearly choked. "Excuse me, what?!"

The whole table erupted into laughter — even Morgan cracked a reluctant smile.

"Time will continue again."

With a faint shimmer, Satria canceled his ability. The world resumed — the waterfall's murmur returned, and the warm afternoon air flowed once more through the restaurant. His presence was calm and steady, his simple clothes fluttering slightly in the breeze.

He smiled as if the quarrel had been nothing more than passing clouds before dawn.

"Are we done? Come now, sit with us. There's food getting cold."

Naruto, Artoria, Koneko, and Gudako exchanged glances before taking their seats. The air was still tense — Artoria and Morgan sat across from one another, their glares quiet but sharp as drawn blades.

Without a word, Satria sat down between the two sisters.

The table fell silent. Then Satria reached for a bowl of steaming rice.

"Artoria," he said gently, "taste this and tell me what you think."

Artoria blinked, confused, but complied. "It's good… though a little plain."

He turned to Morgan. "And you?"

Morgan tasted it too, her expression thoughtful. "It needs salt."

Satria chuckled softly. "Ah, plain rice without salt much like wealth without harmony. It fills the belly… but not the heart."

Both sisters looked down, eyes softening.

He smiled faintly, voice carrying the warmth of old wisdom. "When rice and salt meet, they lose themselves yet together, they create flavor. So too with sisters. You may differ in nature, but unity gives meaning to both."

He reached for a jug of water and poured it evenly into both of their cups. The water caught the sunlight as it flowed a quiet, sacred gesture.

"The water does not choose which cup is greater," Satria said softly. "It fills both equally, as love should fill both hearts."

The sound of the waterfall seemed to deepen, echoing the weight of his words.

Morgan's lips trembled. "Forgive me, Artoria," she whispered. "I spoke out of anger."

Artoria bowed her head, eyes glistening faintly. "And I, Morgan, have carried resentment for too long."

Satria simply nodded. "See? It's not difficult." His tone was kind, not proud. "To bring peace between kin is greater than a hundred sermons. The heart, once softened, becomes the cure of hate."

Silence lingered, not awkward, but sacred.

Then Rimuru smiled, setting down her spoon and fork. "You know… for someone who made a friend with turtle five minutes ago, that was surprisingly profound."

Satria grinned. "Hehe, wisdom comes in mysterious packaging."

Naruto scratched his head, chuckling. "Man, that was deep-dattebayo."

Gudako sniffled dramatically. "That was… so poetic! I'm writing that down for my next Servant Interlude."

Fatalis folded her arms, smirking faintly. "He does this often. Calms wars with words, starts trouble with jokes."

Velzard smiled softly now, her voice calm for the first time. "He's hopeless… but perhaps, that's what makes him special."

Naruto leaned back in his chair, arms crossed and grin wide. "You've gathered quite the team, brat. I mean—look at you! Surrounded by all these beautiful and strong ladies. I heard you even lead a country now. You lucky bastard, aren't ya?"

Velzard smirked proudly, chin lifted. "Obviously, he should be grateful that I, the great Velzard, even tolerate his nonsense and choose to stand by his side."

Fatalis leaned in, wearing a smug smile. "Yup! Without us, he'd be a lost puppy wandering aimlessly. We practically keep his life functional."

Kurumi giggled behind her fan. "Don't worry, Naruto-san. Darling is harmless when not poked… and we make sure he stays that way."

Morgan nodded elegantly. "He is lucky to have us. He's reckless, stubborn, and far too stupid for his own good. Someone had to keep him from self-destructing."

Naruto laughed nervously. "I see, I see… So basically, you're all his babysitters?"

"More like his wife and mothers," Raphael corrected dryly.

"Seriously?" Satria groaned, resting his chin on one hand. "Gather? What do you mean gather? All these weird girls just showed up at my house uninvited. It's extremely difficult taking care of them. Not only do they need special attention, but their lifestyle expenses alone could bankrupt an ordinary man! And trust me, you wouldn't call me lucky if you saw their bad moods."

The table went dead silent.

Slowly… every single woman turned to glare at him.

Velzard's aura dropped the temperature by ten degrees.

Fatalis cracked her knuckles.

Kurumi's smile grew sharper.

Morgan's eyes gleamed dangerously.

"Ara~," Kurumi purred, her tone honeyed but deadly. "What was that, darling? Would you please… repeat that again?"

Satria froze, sweat dripping down his face. "Uh-oh—wait—hold on, I didn't mean—!"

Before he could finish, several hands grabbed his collar.

Velzard wrapped an icy arm around his neck, Fatalis pulled his cheek like dough, Morgan pulled his ears strictly, and Kurumi poked his forehead repeatedly.

Raphael, of course, sipped her tea calmly. "You dug your own grave, husband."

Rimuru facepalmed. "He never learns."

Naruto burst out laughing, pounding the table. "Pfft—You really haven't changed, hahaha! I thought I was the one who got scolded by women all the time!"

Rimuru half amused, half resigned. "And to think, five minutes ago, he was delivering a lecture about harmony and love."

Satria, still being strangled by affection, wheezed, "T-this is… love with consequences…"

Velzard smirked and released him, flicking his forehead. "Next time, choose your words wisely, Satria-kun."

Noa crossed her arms with a teasing grin. "Lucky or not, he's definitely not bored."

Naruto's grin faded as his voice dropped low. "I need your help, Satria. I've spoken with a few of the pantheon heads in this world. They've all seen the same vision, something terrifying is coming to Earth."

Satria casually sipped his iced lemon tea. "And… what exactly do you need from me? Is this about Gorr, the God Butcher?"

The table went still. Even the sound of the waterfall seemed to fade.

Velzard leaned forward, eyes narrowing. "God Butcher? Quite the title this being has. Let me handle—"

"You'd die."

Satria's voice cut through her words like a blade of light. His eyes, usually warm and mischievous, turned sharp and cold enough to make even a True Dragon hesitate.

"Don't," he continued calmly. "Don't try anything foolish, Velzard. Be a good girl and listen."

For the first time, she saw a side of him that wasn't gentle or teasing. It was cold, precise, the look of a man who was worthy to be called as Emperor. "…Okay," she whispered, almost instinctively obeying.

Naruto nodded. "He's right. This guy doesn't hunt mortals. He hunts gods. Beings like me, like her—divine. But Satria, you're different. You're not a god, yet even I couldn't sense your presence until Koneko told me and was strong enough to fight a God. That's why I came." He glanced at Satria with a rare look of genuine concern. "If I fail to stop him, I want you to protect my family. You're the only one I trust to hide them."

Artoria's hand reached for Naruto's shoulder. "Naruto…"

Satria leaned back, folding his arms. "Why not just leave and go to the next Universe? This isn't your world. You've got no reason to fight this God Butcher."

Naruto smiled faintly, that old, unshakable fire returning to his eyes. "Maybe. But I've made bonds here. People I care about. Running away isn't who I am."

Koneko stepped forward, her voice soft but firm. "Senpai… please. Help Naruto-san defeat the God Butcher." Her golden eyes trembled slightly. "He's not asking for himself… but for the people he loves."

Naruto blinked in surprise. "Koneko-chan…"

Satria sighed heavily. "Why should I? I have no connection to the God of this world. I'm not putting myself or my family in the middle of a divine deathmatch just because someone hates religion."

Then, before he could continue, Rimuru gently cupped his face between her palms. Her touch was soft, but her gaze was steady.

"Dear… My Emperor."

"Y-Yeah?"

"You're the Hero of Kindness, right?"

He straightened proudly. "Yep! That's me!"

"Then," she said sweetly, leaning close enough that only he could hear, "prove it. Help them. And if you do… I'll let you adopt or free that turtle, Andy." Her voice dropped to a whisper. "And maybe… wear that idol costume for you tonight."

Satria froze. "…Wait. Really?"

Rimuru smirked. "Really."

Satria stood instantly, slamming his fist into his palm. "You're in luck, dobe! The Gentle Emperor, Lord Satria, is at your service!"

Naruto blinked. "That was… surprisingly easy."

Kurumi chuckled. "He's motivated by the strangest things."

Noa sighed, exasperated. "He's a simple man with complicated powers."

Velzard folded her arms, muttering under her breath. "And apparently, zero resistance to his family."

Satria pointed dramatically toward the horizon. "Fear not! For we shall defeat this edgy god butcher, restore peace to the stars, and—"

Rimuru tugged his sleeve. "You're still paying for lunch, hero."

"…Right," Satria mumbled, deflating instantly as everyone laughed.

They had finished eating—or at least, that's what everyone thought. Plate after plate kept coming, enough to feed an army, yet the Goddesses, Dragoness, and Lioness showed no sign of stopping.

What started as a peaceful lunch had turned into a full-blown eating competition between Fatalis, Velzard, Noa, and Artoria.

Everyone in the restaurant stared in disbelief, jaws dropping as they watched mountains of food vanish at an impossible pace.

"How much do you think this is going to cost us?" Rimuru whispered, her eye twitching.

"No idea…" Satria groaned, rubbing his temples. "If I were a normal human, I'd be bankrupt already just from feeding them."

Naruto gave him a sympathetic look. "You sure about paying for all this, Satria? I can at least cover my Lioness."

"It's fine," Satria replied, trying to sound confident. "I've got a few investments and corporations in this world. Money's not really a problem…" He paused, pulling out a sleek black card. "…Probably."

Rimuru squinted at the card. "Wait—isn't that from Osborn-san?"

Before Satria could answer, a chime echoed through the air.

"Oh?" Artoria raised a brow. "A new mission—and in that rude man's world, huh? Who's joining?"

Satria grinned mischievously. "How about you go with Kurumi and Morgan? Perfect chance for some sisterly bonding!"

Kurumi smirked behind her fan. "I don't mind. Maybe I'll find a few interesting monsters to add to my collection. You'll come with us, won't you, Morgan-san?"

Morgan crossed her arms. "Fine by me. Just make sure you don't mess this up, Artoria."

"Hmph! That's my line," Artoria shot back, puffing her cheeks.

"Nice! Good luck on your mission," Satria said, giving them a thumbs-up.

Kurumi tilted her head, smiling sweetly. "Oh, no, darling. You're coming with us."

"What? No way! I can't fight properly after eating this much," Satria protested, sinking into his chair. "I deserve a nap."

"Stop being lazy, dear," Rimuru said flatly.

"Yeah! You should exercise sometimes, senpai," Koneko added.

Raphael sipped her tea calmly. "Indeed. He often uses his clones to do all his work."

Fatalis grinned, leaning back in her chair. "That's why we need to whip that lazy body into shape—make sure those abs don't turn into a stubborn belly."

Satria's eyebrow twitched. "Coming from a NEET-Dragon like you? How about you come jogging with me tomorrow to my training grounds—on a planet with one hundred times Earth's gravity?"

Fatalis froze, looking away. "…Pass."

Naruto chuckled, patting Satria's shoulder. "I'm leaving my Lioness in your care. Make sure she comes back safely."

Satria sighed dramatically. "Ughh… Fine, fine. Why does my life keep turning into a shounen plotline?"

Rimuru smirked. "Because you attract trouble."

"Or maybe trouble's just attracted to him," Kurumi added slyly.

Everyone laughed as the glowing portal of the Dimensional Chat began to open—another ridiculous adventure about to begin.
