The shape of the spirit resembled the monarch.
It was just like the spirits that appeared whenever he killed a monster.
Only this one was on a completely different scale.
It made sense, though. He had killed a monarch.
That meant its spirit now belonged to him: to be claimed, bound, or absorbed.
He stared up at it, the flames around his body flickering in the presence of the colossal entity.
It looked down at him silently, the light within its eyes dim but still alive.
For a long moment, neither moved.
Then Sam stepped forward.
His hand tightened on his sword.
The grin returned to his face, slow and certain.
"Guess you're mine now."
He walked toward the towering spirit, ready to claim it.
Sam put his hand forward and touched the massive spirit of the [Darkness Monarch], and the moment he did, it instantly submitted to him.
He could feel its immense energy twist and bow, surrendering to his will without resistance.
