"It's almost funny," Sam's opponent said with a wide grin, pointing his silver sword directly at him. "If it were any other race, I might be cautious. But humans?"
He laughed loudly, arrogant confidence radiating off him.
"The universe is on our side this time."
Sam didn't flinch.
His expression remained unreadable as he slid into a relaxed stance, both hands ready at any moment to call forth his power.
His eyes calmly met the elf's.
"And why is that?" Sam asked, voice calm.
He already knew what the elf meant, but more information never hurt.
The elf looked surprised for a moment, then chuckled like it was the dumbest question in the world.
"Why?" he echoed. "Because your world is the last one still stuck in the Fourth Layer. Every other realm has already conquered the [Forsaken Realm], well, except for one, and they're nearly done."
"Hm," Sam said simply.
