“You might believe that, but no one else will. I know there’s nothing between you and His Highness, but other people won’t see it that way. Two grown adults, alone overnight? That alone is enough to ruin you. Everyone will assume something happened—and when they do, you’ll be expected to become his concubine, at best.”
She laid it out point by point, voice tight with urgency.
Hwayeong rolled her eyes and shrugged.
“Then we just make sure no one finds out.”
Problem solved. She grinned, completely satisfied with herself.
Sohwa smacked her chest again.
“You really think secrets last forever?! What if someone saw you?”
“It was pouring. No one would’ve been out there. Even if they were, the rain was so heavy they couldn’t have seen a thing.”
“But what if it slips out some other way? Remember the embroidery cloth incident? People found out you were with His Highness at Baekryeon Lodge then too.”
