“Oh, nowhere special. I just... went to see His Highness.”
Avoiding her gaze, Hwayeong abruptly changed the subject. “Anyway, kind of strange, huh? There was a halo around the moon last night, but the weather’s so nice today.”
Sohwa stared at her back, clearly suspicious of the sudden subject change.
“And why did you go see His Highness this time?”
“Oh... just something to discuss.”
‘Probably more of a duel than a discussion,’ Sohwa thought, and casually tossed out, “At this rate, the two of you are going to fall for each other.”
“Fall for him? Not a chance. He’s just amusing. I didn’t know he liked letters so much—he kept begging me to write him one. It was kind of cute.”
With a laugh, Hwayeong remarked that a younger brother like him would’ve been way better than a bratty little sister like Hwajin.
But Sohwa didn’t laugh.
Something about this didn’t sit right.
“...A letter?”
“Mm-hmm.”
