As for the city defense formation in front of them, it was quite similar in appearance to the great formation mentioned by Fang Yu when Tianyuan Town was destroyed, as both featured internal lockdowns.

One coincidence might be plausible, but two are hard to ignore, especially since Tianyuan Town and Sunset City aren't far apart on the map.
Could it be that these two city defense formations are actually the same thing? Or maybe they share the same foundational array?
It seems that ancient great formations were unreliable, easily modified into lockdown formations.
