What did mastering the Three-Blind Perception Method bring Li Xiang?
In simple terms—Sharper vision.
Not that his physical eyes had changed, but his ability to focus on and track objects within his line of sight had improved.
The human brain processes visual information by filtering out unimportant details and locking onto key elements to avoid overloading itself.
The things it locks onto appear clear, while the rest remain blurred.
Li Xiang's ability to capture those key details had now strengthened. Before, when he looked at Riolu, he only saw thick fur on its face. Now? He could practically count the individual strands if he wanted.
In other words, he could now achieve intense focus on a single subject in a short time, without his mind wandering.
For example, during class, he would no longer zone out and start thinking about what to eat for lunch.
His perception of his surroundings had also improved.
If Riolu (or anything else) approached from outside his line of sight, he would feel a distinct unease, alerting him that something was near.
There were other benefits too—enhanced memory, for one.
All in all, the advantages were numerous.
The changes were so drastic that Li Xiang could hardly believe it.
'Was the Three-Blind Perception Method really this powerful?'
When Riolu had described it before, he hadn't fully grasped its potential.
Could his Third Senior Sister… actually start her own martial arts school with this?
For the first time, Li Xiang felt like a legend was standing right beside him.
He burst into laughter, hugging his Incineroar tightly before grabbing its face and planting several exaggerated kisses on its forehead. Then, he immediately called Jiang Shangrong.
Nearby, Incineroar scratched its forehead sheepishly.
Back when it was still a Litten, Li Xiang used to cuddle, kiss, and pet it all the time. But after evolving into Torracat, he had stopped doing so as much.
And yet now…
'Was he really this happy?'
A strange warmth filled Incineroar's heart. No matter the reason for Li Xiang's joy, as his Pokémon, Incineroar would always share in his happiness.
After evolving, this body—overflowing with power—should be strong enough to become Li Xiang's pillar of support, right?
Incineroar clenched its fists slightly, watching Li Xiang from afar as he chatted excitedly on the phone. After a moment, it shook its head.
'No. This strength… is still far from enough.'
It needed to grow even stronger. Just as Li Xiang had said—evolution was only the beginning, not the end.
The road ahead was long. There was no reason to get complacent over a single evolution.
Standing tall, Incineroar exhaled.
The progress in the Three-Blind Perception Method wasn't exclusive to Li Xiang. As its mindset shifted, its own mental state had also undergone a complete transformation—though it hadn't even realized it yet.
During a break, Incineroar walked over to its teammates, chatting and laughing with them.
But as it glanced around, it couldn't resist taunting its old rival, Riolu, about its height.
Now that it had evolved, aside from Corviknight, Incineroar was the tallest member of the team. Naturally, it had every right to look down on the "shorty" Riolu.
Riolu's eye twitched.
As Incineroar continued its teasing, veins visibly popped on Riolu's forehead. Finally, unable to hold back, it leaped up and punched Incineroar square in the head!
But before the strike landed—
Incineroar's large hand shot out, effortlessly catching Riolu's fist mid-air. It dangled the struggling Riolu playfully, grinning.
"Rrrrowr~"
'Little pup, I'm not that tiny Little Kitty anymore.'
'Your big bro Big Kitty stands at 1.9 meters now! Against a runt like you? One hand is enough!'
Riolu's eyes widened, its face puffing up like steamed buns—absolutely furious.
'Oh no. It's about to explode.'
The other Pokémon tensed.
Among them, Riolu was the most strong-willed. Usually calm, but once angered? It would fight tooth and nail until the very end.
The bigger problem? Li Xiang couldn't find out about this.
If he did?
Oh boy. None of them would escape unscathed.
Li Xiang would lecture them—'You just stood there and watched them fight? Didn't even try to stop them? Where's your teamwork? Do you even understand what 'family' means?'
Then, a 1000-word reflection essay for each of them.
Not even Rotom dared to argue when Li Xiang was angry—it would obediently write its essay and hand it in.
Realizing this, the bystanders could no longer stay idle.
Time for damage control.
Greninja acted first—its tongue flicked out, licking Incineroar's ear.
"Rrrowr—?!"
Incineroar jolted as if electrocuted, shuddering violently before instinctively dropping Riolu.
"Rrrowr!!" (What the hell, Greninja?!)
It glared at the ninja frog, ready to throw hands.
But Greninja merely raised its palms in mock surrender, chirping innocently—Just a prank, bro.
Incineroar huffed but let it go.
As the self-proclaimed leader of the team, it had to be the bigger Pokémon.
Meanwhile, Riolu—
As it fell, Rotom swooped in to catch it, while Corviknight quickly changed the subject.
'Hey, Riolu, wanna go practice the Three-Blind Perception Method in the sky today?'
Lately, Riolu had been making breakthroughs in its training and often pestered Corviknight and Rotom to take it flying.
But the two had their own schedules and couldn't always indulge it.
Now that they were offering? Riolu wasn't about to refuse. It agreed instantly, ignoring Incineroar's earlier provocation.
'Whatever. I'm used to this.'
That idiot cat loved picking fights with strong rivals.
If the day ever came when Incineroar stopped teasing it, that would probably mean it no longer saw Riolu as a threat.
And honestly?
Riolu wasn't sure it would like that day.
Between them, there existed a special bond—one filled with bickering, but also unshakable trust.
And just like that…
A potential disaster was averted, thanks to the quick thinking of the team.
Meanwhile, Li Xiang—
After being thoroughly praised by his senior sister and receiving further adjustments to his training regimen, he felt refreshed, enlightened, reborn.
Turning back to his Pokémon, he smiled like a gentle spring breeze.
"Alright, let's continue."
All five Pokémon shivered.
Li Xiang was usually kind, but this tone? Way too… unsettling.
'No, no. Can't show it. If he realizes, he'll get mad.'
Forcing smiles, they all silently pushed Incineroar forward.
Incineroar broke out in a cold sweat, offering Li Xiang a strained grin before stepping back onto the training field.
Li Xiang glanced at the others.
"What's with the stiff faces? Did Little Cat provoke one of you again?"
He immediately sensed the awkward tension in the air—the kind that lingered after an argument.
Yet, all of them shook their heads.
"Huh??"
Li Xiang crossed his arms, narrowing his eyes at Incineroar (who was suddenly very interested in a tree) and Riolu (who was staring at the ground).
The answer was obvious.
So, he walked up and slapped Incineroar's back.
Incineroar stiffened, then reluctantly lowered its head when it saw Li Xiang's smile.
"Good boy."
Li Xiang patted its head sweetly, "Did you pick a fight with Riolu again?"
Incineroar glanced at its teammates—all suddenly fascinated by the sky—and realized it had been thrown under the bus.
It nodded.
"Great." Li Xiang's smile remained, but in the next second—
His expression darkened.
"SIT."
Incineroar put on a serious face and refused, placing a paw on Li Xiang's shoulder and shaking its head firmly.
—'Unacceptable. For I am but a smol kitten.'
"Don't make me say it twice." Li Xiang's voice was ice.
Incineroar met his gaze, hesitated for two seconds, then sulkingly crouched down.
Without hesitation, Li Xiang grabbed Incineroar's ear and dragged it toward Riolu.
"How many times have I told you to get along?! You just HAVE to mess with Riolu, don't you?! What's wrong with you, huh?! Stupid cat! When will you ever let me relax?!"
Incineroar bent over, enduring the ear-pulling without resistance, its face scrunched in fake pain.
'There goes my dignity.'
But it couldn't explain the real reason for the earlier tension. If it dared say 'Because your smile was creepy as hell,' it wouldn't live to see tomorrow.
And the others wouldn't escape punishment either.
So, Incineroar accepted its fate, silently letting itself be dragged like a misbehaving pet.
This wasn't even the first time.
Back when it was still a Litten, whenever it caused trouble, Li Xiang would drag it by the ear to the scene of the crime.
That habit had carried over even now.
To save itself, Incineroar apologized to Riolu, who "magnanimously" forgave it.
But even so, the newly evolved tiger was sentenced to a third-grade math worksheet, to be handed in before bedtime.
A tragic fate.
Incineroar sighed, staring at its five-fingered paw in frustration.
'What's the point of having these fingers if I just use them to write?!'
At this rate, it'd end up doing Li Xiang's homework for him one day. And that guy?
He'd absolutely make it happen!
Incineroar cursed Li Xiang internally while maintaining a cheerful facade.
Testing continued.
After checking its new moves, it was time for the old ones.
Some moves remained unchanged, while others had dramatically different forms—especially Fire-type attacks.
This was mainly because Incineroar's flame-emitting organ had shifted from its bell to its waistband, altering the origin point of its flames.
Close-range Fire moves were fine, but long-range ones naturally shot from its belt unless controlled otherwise.
This came with a shoulder-pulling, waist-thrusting motion—which, even on a cool Pokémon like Incineroar, looked a little… questionable.
Luckily, the pose wasn't mandatory. It was just a habit for boosting power and momentum, something that could be trained away later.
(The startup lag, however, was unavoidable.)
Overall, Li Xiang was satisfied.
Especially with those massive paws—perfect for slapping. Moves like Swagger, Fake Out, Darkest Lariat, and Throat Chop all made use of them.
One swing, straight to the opponent's jugular.
Now THAT would be a sight to behold.
Like Greninja, Incineroar could now learn moves that were previously out of reach.
The future was bright.
And Incineroar?
It was ready to burn it all down.
