To be fair, the condition of these 2S4 mortars wasn't very good, and all the captured shells were exhausted in the battle to capture Mosu City. Therefore, the Seventh Armored Division did not take these heavy mortars when returning to the Northwest War Zone, handing them over to the succeeding Mua Alliance Army.
Evidently, for the Mua Alliance Army tasked with executing the occupation mission, these heavy mortars were not needed at all.
Furthermore, shortly after the Seventh Armored Division withdrew, the Mua Alliance Army discovered an entire warehouse of 240mm mortar shells, several nearly new 2S4s, and a large number of spare parts in a base abandoned by the enemy to the north of Mosu City.
Otherwise, Ding Zhennan would not have bothered Lu Liangyuan for heavy mortars without available shells.
