The Buddhist sect has a legend.
Once, a high monk who had attained enlightenment went on a journey and fell in love with a village maiden, forming emotional ties that shook his Buddhist faith, nearly causing him to renounce his vows and start a family with her.
In the end, however, the monk chose to dig out his own heart, deeply burying his emotions and heart in the soil, then quietly leaving.
As time went on, a dazzling purple plant grew from the soil where his heartfelt emotions were buried, emitting a strange fragrance. Lovers and couples from miles around would come on the seventh day of July to worship, praying for their love to remain evergreen and forever renewed.
Of course, this is merely a tragic and beautiful legend.
In fact, the plant is called the Six Ren Buddha Flower, which sprouts every five hundred years, blooms every five hundred years, and bears fruit every five hundred years, totaling fifteen hundred years.
