As each wooden box was opened, and each text perused, he increasingly understood what the Dark Age meant.
But this situation didn't last.
When he reached a third of the way into the archive, things changed.
The instant he earnestly opened a certain box, Ronald's gaze sharpened.
He noticed a change in the material of the pages inside the box.
Instead of the ordinary paper that church personnel preferred for record-keeping, it was something completely different in its making, akin to parchment.
With a subtly amused expression, Ronald chuckled:
