At nine in the evening, the Mayor was reading "International News." He was very interested in recent international events.
The sudden ringing of the phone didn't bother him. Anyone calling at this hour must have serious matters to discuss.
He put down the newspaper, removed his reading glasses, rubbed his eyes, and then answered the phone, "This is Sidney."
"It's me, Mike."
"What's the matter?" he asked.
"Just now... the senator called me; the liquor you confiscated today was from the Kodak family."
The Mayor had already heard about this and been waiting for the call, "So..."
"So, this batch of liquor can't be destroyed."
Even though the Mayor had been mentally prepared, he couldn't help feeling agitated when he heard these words, "What you're saying makes me uneasy, Mike."
"If it's because it belongs to the Kodak family, it's untouchable, then perhaps I should just resign on principle!"
