Anning felt a throbbing pain in her head, not the kind that came with sickness, but the discomfort that followed a bout of heavy drinking.
She closed her eyes for a moment, then opened them again, straining to suppress the pain as she looked around at her surroundings.
She found herself seated in a private room at a KTV, surrounded by many people, both men and women.
Judging by their attire and snippets of their conversations, Anning concluded that they were colleagues from the same company, likely celebrating something here.
Anning rubbed her forehead and stood up.
A girl next to her caught her arm: "Anning, what are you doing? It'll be your turn to sing soon, don't run off."
Anning didn't recognize the girl, and lacking the memories of her original self, couldn't respond in any specific way, so she staggered a few steps: "I'm going to the bathroom. I'll sing... in a bit."
Seeing that Anning was a bit tipsy, the girl asked her, "Do you need me to accompany you?"
