(Drakken's POV)
"Get help!!!" I heard Vaella's shouting, "Hurry!!"
I walked into the room where I had heard some shouting, "What in the hell is going on here?" I asked as I saw several maids backing away from what seemed like Vaella hunched over Maelor, "Nothing but yelling!"
"Arghh!!" Maelor shouted as he clutched his eye, "It hurtss!!!!"
Vaella looked at me with a worried look, "F-Father!" She exclaimed, "Maelor suddenly collapsed, writhing in pain!!"
I scowled, "What?" I said as I reached them, "What is wrong, Maelor? Is it your eye?"
I saw that he was also bleeding from his head, Vaella's hand was covering the wound.
"I am sorry, My Lord." a Maid said, "He clutched his eye and stumbled, hitting himself against the head when he fell!"
"Let me see." I crouched down, "Move aside, Vaella."
"But...." She said, "He is bleeding!"
I moved her hand gently, "Don't worry." I told her, "Let Papa handle this."
She moved to the side and watched as I placed my hand over his wound, closing it using Repair. As I did this, I honed in my senses in his eye, seeing that there was an even larger leak of ether going through his eye. I saw the way it flowed out of and surrounded his body, as if it were cloaking him.
"Tch...." I said, "I've seen this a couple of times. Some sort of inherent Eye Sorcery. Hiding itself in the Polycoria, the extra pupil acts as an opening for ether. I had my suspicions but considering that this world has no ether, I couldn't poke into his head to make sure."
"What does that mean?" Vaella asked, "Is he going to be okay?"
"I need to fix the leak. It's going to be painful for him. I had to inject my ether into his head, stitching everything around to fix it." I said, "This is how he hid in the wound; the eye provided a cloak. I didn't think much of it until now. I have to fix this."
"Aghh...." Maelor writhed in pain, "Father....it hurts...."
I picked him up in my arms, "I know." I said, "It's going to hurt even more, my son. But worry not, I'll fix this."
"F-Father...." Vaella said as I stood up, "Is he going to be okay?"
"He will." I said, "I'll be in the basement. I don't need anyone bothering. Tell your mother what happened and tell her I am going to fix it."
I made my way towards the door as Maelor was in my arms, groaning in pain.
"Ahh...." He said, "It hurts so much."
"Pain is temporary." I told him,
"You'll understand that much."
***************
"Drakken!" Maegelle opened the door to the room where I had Maelor in, "Is he okay???"
She rushed over to the table where I had Maelor laid, seeing that his arms and legs were strapped down. Maelor was asleep, his breathing had just stabilized. He had a cloth eyepatch over his left eye, a bit of dried blood on his cheek.
"I've just finished." I handed her a wet cloth, "Clean his face."
I then reached down and undid his straps, rubbing his wrists gently after I freed them.
"Y-You had him strapped down??" She frowned, "Drakken...."
"Had to keep him immobile." I said as I placed my hand on his head, inspecting his body with my senses, "This surgery was not going to be pretty."
Maegelle walked to the other side, cleaning his dried blood as tears formed in her eyes, "oh..." She said, "It breaks my heart, it shatters it completely. My boy....my beautiful boy..."
She leaned down and kissed his cheek as she placed her hand on his chest.
"He'll be fine. His left will be a bit sensitive and will be prone to drying up once in a while." I said as I stepped back, "Discomfort is all he'll feel now. No more pain. I will create a special substance meant to lubricate the eyes and soothe any sort of discomfort."
Maegelle looked at me, "N-Now I don't want to go to Dorne...." she said softly, "I can't just leave him here...."
"You said you wanted to go see Nymeria." I told her, "We're going."
I heard footsteps behind me, "Is he okay??" I heard Saera's voice
I turned to see her walking over to the table, "He's fine." I told her as she reached the table, "He just needs rest."
Saera looked at him with a shocked face, "I...." She said, "What did you do to him?"
"I injected my black ether into him, repairing his leak. I stitched several nerves together, which were damaged due to the leak." I said, "It was a painful surgery, one that I could not alter with pain-relieving drugs. Maelor will be fine, he is strong. He is fine now."
"It sounds bad...." Maegelle said, "I am glad I wasn't here to see it."
"That's why I had Vaella tell you a bit later." I told her, "I didn't need you to make things worse by worrying. When it comes to the boys, you worry too much...."
"I can't help it!" She frowned
I waved her off, "I understand."
Saera sighed, "It is always something..." She leaned down and kissed his forehead, "These children of ours....."
"Take him to his bed." I told her, "And be ready for our trip. We are going to Dorne."
"And leaving Maelor here?" Saera asked me
"Mya is going to stay, isn't she? She'll take care of him." I said seriously, "The two of you were bitching at me about Nymeria, don't change your mind now."
"Yes..." Maegelle said, "But can it wait a couple more days? I need to be sure that he wakes and is fine..."
"She's right, Drakken." Saera looked at me, "At least wait till he says he's fine."
I shrugged, "Suit yourselves." I turned around, "I don't care."
I was going to walk away and I felt Saera's hand grab me, "Wait." She said softly, "Don't go anywhere."
"What is it?" I asked her
She hugged me by the waist, "I want to do something." She said softly, "Something we haven't done in a long time."
I raised an eyebrow, "What are you talking about?"
She blushed slightly, "Before Astorias...." She said softly, "Do you remember what we did to have fun?"
I blinked, "You're joking." I said, "You want to do that now?"
She nodded, "Before we go to Dorne. Do me at least that favor." She said with a smile, "I want to fill the thrill again, Drakken.....and I want to feel you right after."
I sighed, "Fine." I said, "If you want."
"We can go murder some pricks."
