Shen Jinci crouched down, cajoling her gently, "What's the matter? Are you scared to be alone?"
Bian Yue did not answer, but only looked at him as her tears flowed more fiercely.
Shen Jinci's eyes darkened slightly, and when he spoke again, he did not forget to wipe the tears from her face, speaking ever so patiently, "Don't worry, I won't leave for too long. I'm just going to get Yueyue a glass of water and I'll be right back."
Bian Yue closed her eyes, still clutching his clothes and refusing to let go. Her voice was hoarse as she said, "Shen Jinci, I saw everything just now. The wound on your chest, I saw it all."
Bian Yue could clearly feel Shen Jinci's movement of wiping her tears pause.
He was silent for a moment, his smile deepening, his voice becoming even more tender, "It's nothing, just a minor wound."
