Zhao Yan was back, so naturally, Xie Ying'an had no reason to stay at Qingran's home anymore.
After the parent-teacher meeting, Zhao Yan waved to Xie Ying'an from across the street at the school gate, signaling him to come over: "Anzai, time to go home!"
Mr. Li's car was parked behind Zhao Yan's. Xie Ying'an walked toward it along with Qingran.
However, Xie Ying'an had no intentions of going back home. He greeted Mr. Li and asked him and Qingran to wait for him for a bit.
Then, he crossed the street and apparently said something to Zhao Yan, making her sigh with helplessness, as if her son was beyond her control. She patted Xie Ying'an's shoulder earnestly, waved goodbye to Qingran and Mr. Li, and drove off first.
It was clear to Qingran then: Xie Ying'an had no plans of returning home at all.
Naturally, Mr. Li noticed as well. Having watched Xie Ying'an grow up since childhood, he treated him as his own child and, of course, was very happy to have him stay at his home.
