Chapter 19 - Midnight Shadows Over Hyderabad

Scene 1 – A Message in the Dark

The night was quiet in Islamabad. Zayan sat alone in his office, the faint glow of his desk lamp casting sharp shadows across stacks of classified files. His phone vibrated twice — a secure notification from the encrypted channel.

He opened it instantly.

Benny: "Indian C130 is about to fly @ 00:30 tonight. It's flying from Bhuj and will land, dropping troops near Hyderabad, Sindh."

Zayan's eyes narrowed. So, they're making a move inside our borders… again. He took a deep breath, hit the intercom, and spoke sharply:

Zayan: "Ubaid, get your entire team in my office. Now."

---

Scene 2 – The Briefing

Minutes later, Ubaid entered with the core members — Aliza, Aaliya, and Rizwan. Their boots echoed against the polished floor as they gathered around the briefing table.

Zayan slid the tablet toward them, showing Benny's decoded message.

Zayan: "This is not a drill. A C-130 will cross from Bhuj at exactly 00:30. They plan to drop troops near Hyderabad. No official announcement, no declaration — a covert insertion."

Ubaid leaned forward.

Ubaid: "Sir, this means they're sending specialists, maybe recon or sabotage teams."

Zayan: "Exactly. Some may blend in, some may vanish in the night. But we cannot let them succeed."

Ubaid hesitated for a moment, then spoke.

Ubaid: "Sir, I have an idea. We must alert Captain Emad's Phantom Team. They're already posted in Hyderabad."

Zayan nodded.

Zayan: "Good thinking. Aliza, get Emad on a secure line. Tell him to prepare for interception."

Aliza began typing rapidly on her secure terminal.

Aliza: "Link established, Captain Emad on comms."

Emad's voice crackled through the speaker: "Phantom Team is ready. What's the target?"

Zayan replied, his tone like steel.

Zayan: "Indian C-130 insertion, near Hyderabad. You'll get the coordinates mid-flight. Move fast — they're coming in less than five hours."

---

Scene 3 – Arrival in Hyderabad

By late evening, the Phantom Team's private jet touched down at Hyderabad Airport. Emad stepped out first, his combat gear perfectly in place, eyes scanning the tarmac for threats.

Ubaid and his team were waiting. They shook hands quickly — no time for small talk.

Emad: "Zayan briefed me. We'll need local intel and your tracking units."

Ubaid: "You'll have them. Aliza and Aaliya will monitor from the mobile command van. We'll shadow you in the field."

They loaded gear into two unmarked SUVs and moved toward the outskirts of the city.

---

Scene 4 – The Waiting Game

By 23:45 hours, both teams were in their positions — scattered in stealth locations across the drop zone. The air was cool, with a faint desert wind whispering through the dry grass.

In the command van, Aliza stared at the radar feed. Aaliya's fingers danced over her laptop keyboard, scanning radio frequencies and satellite images.

Aliza: "No sign yet… wait… I've got a blip. High-altitude approach from the east."

Ubaid, over earpiece: "Copy that. All units, eyes open."

---

Scene 5 – The Drop

At exactly 00:30, the faint hum of engines rolled through the night sky. Above the border, the silhouette of the Indian C-130 emerged, barely visible against the dark horizon.

A faint flicker of lights, then shadows began descending — parachutes opening silently.

Emad, whispering into mic: "They're here. Count twenty… no, twenty-two."

Some landed together, others drifted off toward the shadows of distant farmhouses. A few immediately blended into the terrain and vanished from sight.

Ubaid: "Tracking main group. Phantom Team, focus on the vanishers."

---

Scene 6 – Ghost Hunt

Moving in perfect silence, Emad's team followed two men who had landed behind a cluster of old brick buildings. Night vision goggles turned the darkness into a green haze.

In the command van, Aaliya's voice suddenly broke in.

Aaliya: "Hold on… I'm intercepting their radio chatter. Switching to decrypted feed now."

The van filled with faint voices in Hindi:

"Group Alpha to Command — primary objective route confirmed. Proceeding to contact point."

"Bravo team — keep low. Locals must not see you."

Aliza looked at Ubaid, eyes sharp.

Aliza: "They're not here for training. This is a covert sabotage op."

---

Scene 7 – The Silent Net

Ubaid's voice came through every headset:

Ubaid: "All units — we take them alive. No gunfire unless necessary."

Phantom Team moved like shadows, coordinating with Ubaid's extraction squad. One by one, they cut off escape routes, quietly surrounding the vanishers.

Emad gestured to his point man. They crept behind two agents checking a GPS unit. In one swift motion, they struck — a chokehold and a wrist lock — both men subdued without a sound.

On the other side of the field, Ubaid's men intercepted three more, cornering them between an irrigation canal and a mud wall.

---

Scene 8 – The Last Two

Only two agents remained unaccounted for. Aaliya's voice came again:

Aaliya: "They're heading toward the railway line. If they cross, we'll lose them."

Emad sprinted through the field, cutting them off just before they reached the tracks. The agents froze, realizing they were surrounded — Ubaid, Emad, and two operatives closing in.

Emad: "End of the line. Drop your gear."

One agent made a desperate move, but Aliza appeared from behind, sidearm raised — no hesitation in her voice.

Aliza: "Don't. Try."

They surrendered.

---

Scene 9 – The Aftermath

By 02:00 hours, seven Indian agents sat bound inside the command van, their confiscated equipment laid out — encrypted radios, silenced pistols, and false Pakistani IDs.

Ubaid: "Not a single shot fired. That's how it's done."

Emad nodded, his expression calm but satisfied.

Emad: "Zayan will want to question them himself."

Ubaid tapped his earpiece.

Ubaid: "Zayan, package secured. No casualties. Hyderabad is safe."

Zayan's voice replied with quiet pride: "Good work, all of you. We'll send the warm welcome as planned."

---

Scene 10 – Quiet Victory

As dawn began to lighten the horizon, the teams packed up and drove back to the secure facility. Hyderabad woke up like any normal day, unaware that during the night, an enemy infiltration had been stopped cold.

In the van, Aaliya closed her laptop with a satisfied sigh.

Aaliya: "Sometimes the best battles are the ones no one knows about."

Ubaid smiled faintly.

Ubaid: "And those are the ones we win in silence."
