I paced the length of the penthouse with agitation.
Olivia wasn't home. She had left for a few hours to meet with her lawyers, or more board members who now looked to her like she was some kind of savior. And while she was out doing her best to clean up a disaster I had started, I was here trying to figure out what the hell I was going to do next.
Because now... she was in charge.
She was the obstacle.
It was no longer her father and I fucking hated that.
The plan had been clean…cruel, yes but simple: take the father out, let the company fall into uncertainty, then slide in and claim it. No fuss, no competition.
But what I did not count on… was Olivia.
I underestimated her.
No, that is not even the truth. I saw her. I just did not think she would be made of the same steel her father carried in his bones. I thought she would grieve and fall apart. That she would let me take the reins.
I was wrong… she was now in my bloody way.
