The air in the CEO's office was so thick with tension it felt like a physical weight pressing down on everyone. Leone stood by the window, his back rigid, staring out at the city skyline as if he could spot the enemies marching toward his tower. Edoardo sat on the edge of the desk, furiously tapping away on his tablet, his usual playful demeanor replaced by grim focus.
When the door clicked open, both men looked up instantly.
Evelina stepped inside, clutching a folder to her chest. She didn't look terrified, which surprised Edoardo. In fact, she looked oddly… calm.
"Well?" Leone asked, his voice low and dangerous. "Did you confirm the extent of the leak? Does Liam have the full redevelopment strategy?"
Evelina walked over to the desk and placed the folder down with a soft thud.
"He has the files," she admitted, her voice steady. "He has the architectural blueprints, the zoning analysis, and the list of every target property we were planning to acquire."
